Summary: Good Friday
And then as well in John as we move forward to the crucifixion of Jesus.
John 19:28-30 ~ After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.” 29 A jar full of sour wine stood there, so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch and held it to his mouth. 30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
So you see without that day on the cross all the rest of Christianity falls. The significance of it as vital as His birth and His resurrection.
So I say that we should reflect heavily on that day and what our contribution was in it. For if there was only one sinner that lived in order for that sinner to receive salvation the pain and suffering of Jesus would have looked much the same. That is how destructive God sees our sin.
