I am thirsty
• His humanity and divinity has been misunderstood and debated for centuries.
His humanity was only an illusion. (God in a human Halloween suit.)
Jesus was part God and part human
Jesus was fully human and fully Divine!
• Why is that important to us today?
Hebrews 4:15 NIV
“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are — yet was without sin.”
Jesus entered our suffering:
When we’re weeping for a loved one, Jesus has been there.
When we’re battling illness, Jesus has been there.
When we’re the victim of abuse, Jesus has been there.
It is finished
Jesus finished his assignment. He finished his race. He didn’t give up!
John 4:34 NIV
"My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.”
The cross was not a final defeat. The cross was a finish line!
