God’s Roles, My Roles

If you are reading this write up, it means you are alive today. I therefore wish you a happy good day or happy birthday. Now that you have this day, what could you do with it? You are to live for God in it; the Lord will help you in Jesus name.

By now you should know that God is a big part of and plays a big role in human life. I wish to make it clear that as much as God has a role to play in your life, you also have a role to play in it. Not only is God the creator of heaven and earth and humankind all-together, He continue to play the role of life preserver.

In Psalm 90:14-16, God promises to play many roles in your life; take a look at it:

“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;

I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble;

I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life I will satisfy him,

And show him My salvation.”

Here you see that

God is willing to play the role of delivering you if you set your love upon Him;

He plays the role of setting you on high if you decide to know His name;

He plays the role of answering if you play the role of calling upon Him;

Further, He plays the roles of being with you in trouble, delivering you, honoring you, satisfying you with long life and at the end showing you His salvation.

Oh whao, what else can one ask for? This is completeness indeed!

As you see, God’s part is more than yours. All He wants you to do is love Him, know His name and call Him for whatever your needs are. He gets to do the rest. What an awesome God.

God, knowing that you need help in order to play your roles has introduced you to Jesus Christ – in whom you have your being.

Here is the point: If God is fulfilling His roles, you too must fulfil yours.

How do you do this? You begin to walk in wisdom by learning to number your days. Psalm 90:12 says, “teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.”

Wisdom here says we are here on earth only for a limited time, therefore we should use every opportunity we have, such as now, to love God and live for Him through Jesus Christ.

Wisdom says we should seek God now while He may be found, not waiting till it is too late.

Isa. 55:6 says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.”

As a birthday celebrant and everyone who remembers God’s goodness over his or her life each day, wisdom says, use the rest of your life to serve God; find something to do for Him. Let your community feel your existence; when you do this, you are serving God. Read what Jesus has to say about this in Matthew 25:31-46. This is the time to get yourself involved in serving people, thereby serving God. This is the time to pay attention to making a deposit in heaven for your future’s sake. Start getting involved.
