God Will Make Up The Slack For What You Lack

GOD WILL MAKE UP THE SLACK FOR WHAT YOU LACK

EX 25:8

I. GOD WANTED A SANCTUARY BUILT

A. God commanded his people to build a sanctuary

B. He gives delicate detail as to how the sanctuary will be constructed

C. The only ability Israel had was to make bricks out of mud and straw

-Israel’s lack did not stop God

-God supplied the necessary skill and talent to get the job done

D. Two types of people God used

-those who supplied the needed items

-those who did the work

E. They were an unlikely bunch but they got the job done

II. GOD IS STILL BUILDING THE CHURCH TODAY

A. God is still building the church

-Matt 16:18 ...upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

-He will continue building the church until He returns to take the church home

-as long as Jesus tarries there will always be work to do

B. Just like then, God is going to use people to get the job done

C. He wants to use you

-one of satan’s most deceptive lies is "you don’t have anything to offer God. You can’t do anything,

God can’t use you

D. We were all sinners on our way to hell and we have been saved by the grace of God

E. God has something for everyone - he’s no respecter of persons

F. The ability to do the job doesn’t come from you, it comes from God

-God can use the natural talents you have

-God can also call and equip you to do something you thought you couldn’t do

-1 Cor 12:4-7 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of OPERATIONS, but it is the same God which WORKETH all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

-God equips those whom he calls

-the call to be witnesses (Ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you..

III. WHAT IS GOD LOOKING FOR IN US

A. A willing heart

-God uses people people who have a heart that is willing to obey him

-Exod 35:4-5 And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying, Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart,...

-2 Cor 8:12 For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

B. A stirred up heart

-God uses people who’s heart is stirred

-stirred (lifted up or carried away as with excitement, to be alive with desire, anticipation and excitement

-Exod 35:21 And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up,....

-2 Tim 1:6 Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee

C. A fearless heart

-even though fear is not mentioned they realized God had given them His Spirit to enable them to do the job, therefore they were not stopped by fear

-Exod 35:30-35 And Moses said unto the children of Israel, See, the LORD hath called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; And to devise curious works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, And in the cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of wood, to make any manner of cunning work. And he hath put in his heart that he may teach, both he, and Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. Them hath he filled with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the cunning workman, and of the embroiderer, in blue, and in purple, in scarlet, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do any work, and of those that devise cunning work.

-fear paralyzes, fear holds us back, fear keeps us from reaching our full potential, fear destroys faith

-2 Tim 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

-God needs people who are not afraid to step out and obey Him

D. Satan keeps us looking at what we can’t do or what we don’t have

-God wants to use us inspite of what we can or cannot do

-Its not what we can do but what God can do through us

E. God is still building His Church and He wants to use you
