Summary: As teens are challenged that God has more for them they will see their purpose in life.
God’s Master Plan Text: Ephesians 1: 9-14
9God’s secret plan has now been revealed to us; it is a plan centered on Christ, designed long ago according to his good pleasure. 10And this is his plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ--everything in heaven and on earth. 11Furthermore, because of Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as he decided long ago. 12God’s purpose was that we who were the first to trust in Christ should praise our glorious God. 13And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.
Introduction: God has a master plan for your life; He also knows your purpose. You are a gift for God! He has His hand on you, and He is not willing to let you go! God created you, so He could delight in you His gift. God created you to praise Him! The highest call on your life is to praise God! Paul was in prison as he wrote this letter to the church. He was confined. Sometimes when you feel confined is when you can really hear form God!
I. #1.God’s secret plan for sending Christ was for us! Ehp.1: 9God’s secret plan has now been revealed to us; it is a plan centered on Christ, designed long ago according to his good pleasure. This plan would cost God allowing His only Son to die on a cross for our sins.
A. John 3:16-17 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
B. #2. God not only had a plan, but He had a purpose! Ephesians 1:12 God’s purpose was that we who were the first to trust in Christ should praise our glorious God.
C. You have a larger purpose for life than just to get by! God has chosen you! Jer 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
D. The suicide rate among teens is very high one reason for this is, they don’t know their purpose!
E. #3. You are a gift to God! Eph.1:13-14 And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.
F. Ephesians 4:11-13 He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, 13until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full statureofChrist.14Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth.
F. #4. You were created to praise God! Eph. 1: 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. Psalm 37:4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
G. As you begin to take delight in the Lord you will find out that He does take much delight in you! As you begin to praise Him; you will find that He will praise you in many ways!
H. Eph. 5:18-20 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. 19Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts.20And you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (God created you to praise Him; therefore, when you do what He created you to do God will reward you with much fruit and gifts!)
