Explores the hope and assurance we have in Jesus, our high priest, who empathizes with our struggles and offers us mercy and grace.
Good Morning, Church Family! It's a joy to be here with you today. You know, we've been walking together through the book of Hebrews, and today, we've come to a passage that is really going to knock your socks off. It's one that's packed with hope, encouragement, and a whole lot of love from our Heavenly Father.
Before we get into it, I want to share a quote with you. It's from A.W. Tozer, a man who had a deep understanding of God's word. He said, "God never hurries. There are no deadlines against which he must work. Only to know this is to quiet our spirits and relax our nerves." Isn't that just what we need to hear today? In our fast-paced, hustle-bustle world, we need to remember that God's timing is perfect, and He's never in a rush.
When we look at the passage from Hebrews, we see a clear picture of God's provision for us through Jesus Christ. It's a provision that is not just about meeting our physical needs, but also our spiritual needs. God, in His infinite wisdom and love, knew that we needed a Savior, a high priest who could sympathize with our weaknesses and intercede on our behalf. And He provided just that in Jesus.
Jesus ascended into heaven: He sits at the right hand of the Father. He is our great high priest, the one who bridges the gap between us and God. He understands our human frailties, having been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin. His perfect life, sacrificial death, and victorious resurrection make it possible for us to approach God's throne with confidence.
A truth that we need to grasp: Our faith is not in a distant, detached deity, but in a loving, compassionate God who has provided a way for us to be reconciled to Him. He has given us Jesus, who not only understands our struggles but has overcome them. This is the heart of God's provision for us.
God also provides for us in our daily lives: He gives us the strength to face our trials, the wisdom to make right decisions, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. He provides for our needs, both big and small, because He cares for us.
When we face difficulties, we can turn to God: We can have peace knowing that He will provide a way out. When we are in need, we can trust that God will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. When we are weak, we can rely on God's strength to sustain us. This is the assurance we have in God's provision.
God's provision is not limited to our personal lives: It extends to our communities, our churches, and the world at large. God is at work in the world, bringing about His purposes and plans. He is providing for the needs of His people, advancing His kingdom, and revealing His glory. We see this in the way God provides for the poor and needy, in the way He brings healing and restoration, in the way He raises up leaders and workers for His harvest. We see it in the way He sends His Spirit to empower and equip us for service. God's provision is all around us, if we only have eyes to see.
God's provision is a gift of grace: We don't earn it, and we certainly don't deserve it. But God, in His love and mercy, gives it freely. He lavishes us with His blessings, not because of who we are or what we've done, but because of who He is and what He has done.
In the light of God's provision, we find ourselves standing at the precipice of an even greater revelation ... View this full PRO sermon free with PRO
