God Is Our Provider And Trust In His Promise To Supply Our Needs Series

As Christians, we are often faced with financial challenges that can be overwhelming. Mortgage payments, utility bills, and other expenses can weigh heavily on our minds, causing stress and anxiety. However, as believers, we have a promise from God that He will provide for our needs.

In this sermon, we will explore biblical teachings that remind us of God's faithfulness to supply our needs, including paying our mortgage and bills.

God's Promise to Provide

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus teaches us to "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." This promise is not limited to spiritual needs but also encompasses our physical and financial needs.

In Philippians 4:19, the apostle Paul writes, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." This verse reminds us that God is our ultimate provider, and He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

Trusting in God's Provision

So, how can we trust in God's promise to provide for our needs? Here are a few principles to apply:

Seek God first: Before worrying about our financial needs, we should seek God's kingdom and righteousness. This means prioritizing our relationship with Him and trusting in His sovereignty.

Give generously: In 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Paul writes, "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." Giving generously to God's work and to those in need demonstrates our trust in His provision.

Pray and ask: In Matthew 7:7-8, Jesus teaches us to "ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened." We should pray and ask God to provide for our needs, trusting in His faithfulness.

Trust and obey: In Proverbs 3:5-6, we are reminded to "trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Trusting in God's provision requires obeying His commands and trusting in His sovereignty.

As Christians, we can trust in God's promise to provide for our needs, including paying our mortgage and bills. By seeking God first, giving generously, praying and asking, and trusting and obeying, we can experience the reality of God's provision in our lives.

Remember, God is our ultimate provider, and He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. Let us trust in His promise and experience the peace and security that comes from knowing that He is our provider.
