Summary: Jesus promised never to leave us or forsake us; and He will always be with us till the end. With this confidence in us, we are never afraid of anything in this world for God is on our side.
God is on our side!
Romans 8:28-31
Introduction:
We were made by God to enjoy freedom-freedom from sin, death, sickness, and problems; never to strive just to earn a living. It was a worry-free life that God intended man to have. We were created to have dominion over everything, but a time came when Satan, the fake recruiter deceived our first parents Adam & Eve. Since then, man fell into the steel cage of curse. Man was then imprisoned-held captive by the force of darkness. Eternal and happy life was lost and death took its place instead.
Now, we are in the prison house of sin, vices and sickness, and we are bound and limited in everything that we do. However, the government in heaven sent us a lawyer to defend our case. He came here to give us our rights back. He is the head and we are the body. (Col. 1:18)
I. What did God use to pay for our freedom?
The Lord Jesus Himself came down and clothed Himself in human flesh and died on the cross of Calvary.
He gave us back His life.
He destroyed poverty.
He healed every disease.
We were set free from the prison cell of the devil and when we came out, we had our new life in Christ.
II.What shall we do in order to enter into the Kingdom of God?
We must be born of water and of the spirit. (John 3:3-5) By being born again we were made free from every bondage that held us captive before.
III. How do we know that we are already free? (John 8:32)
We have a changed life. A new life in Christ.
We are free from the bondage of sin, vice, and diseases.
IV. What are the signs that God is on our side?
When He gave Himself for us.
He gave us His Holy Spirit that empowered us to overcome the enemy which is Satan.
He is always there to forgive us every time we commit sin thereby setting us free from condemnation. He promised to be with us always. Matt. 28:19-20
Conclusion:
When Jesus ascended to heaven, He promised to give us the gift of the Holy Spirit. Since then He has made us His residence. He is always with us and we are already a part of the household of God. We are now His children, and have been given the right to call Him "Father." As His children, we are given everything we need. Every wish is granted according to His perfect will for us. As such, we were given freedom. He promised never to leave us or forsake us; and He will always be with us till the end. With this confidence in us, we are never afraid of anything in this world for God is on our side.
