"God Cares About You"
Contributed by John Colbert on Aug 4, 2015 (message contributor)
Summary: The sermons that I have listed are 30 to 40 minute sermons. I have only listed the points and a couple of comments under each point of each sermon to give the preacher a remembrance which the Holy Spirit can lead on and speak through the man of God.
"God cares about you"
Psalm 55:22, Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.
Today many of us who claim to be Christians are living our lives as if there is no God. It seems like many of us are doing and enjoying the same things the world is doing and enjoying, and from the outside we look more like the world, then Christians.
1. God cares about our identity.
First, as a Christian we should be living a life that reflects who we are and whose we are. Christians should be the light on a hill in a dark hurting and painful sinning world. We as Christians should hate what our God hates and love what our God loves; and not calling what God calls bad good and good bad no matter who we are around or what our government says (righteous V:22c).
2. God cares about our burdens.
Second, God cares for us and He cares what happens to us and He will fight your battles for you when He needs too. Being a Christian doesn't set us apart from heartache or hurting, but we have a God who will help us through these times of trials (thy burden V:22b).
3.God cares about our actions.
Third, God here requires action from us to cast our burdens on Him. It doesn't do me any good just to say it, I have to do it and have faith in God that He will take care of it for me. This is like a Christian praying for rain and bringing their umbrella because they have faith enough that God will provide the rain (cast, V:22a).
4. God cares about providing.
Fourth, we as Christians know that God will take care of us and will provide for all our needs, but not all of our wants. We read here that God will "sustain us" meaning giving us our basic needs to live and survive in this world (sustain thee,V:22b). We who belong to the household of faith in Christ Jesus should be asking ourselves are we living a righteous life before our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ? We are not perfect by no means, but we should live a life that honors God to the best of our ability. The Bible states that you will fall in your walk, but it never states that we are to stay down when we fall. Jesus provides enough grace for us to get back up and continue our walk and our work for His kingdom.
