113 I hate vain thoughts:
Empty thoughts - Lethargy - Lot lingered in Sodom
Envious thoughts - Lust - Cain slew Abel
Evil thoughts - Loathsome - Joseph was sold by his brethren
Erroneous thoughts - Lies - Thou shalt not surely die. Sir Walter Scott,
"Oh what a tangled web we weave/When first we practice to deceive,’
Egotistical thoughts - Loftiness - Self-centered
(Naaman“Behold, I THOUGHT -- Haman cf. Est. 6:6).
Extravagant thoughts - License - The rich fool—“He thought within himself, saying,
What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits…”
But God’s thoughts were, “Thou fool…”
113 But thy law do I love. - It's Source, It's Security, and It's Satisfaction.
2. David's Retreat in God's Word.
114 Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.
It's Powerful - Thou,
Perpetual - art,
Personal - my hiding place
Practical - and my shield:
Purposeful - I hope in thy word.
3. David's Response to God's Word.
Separation - 115 Depart from me,
Segregation - ye evildoers:
Subjection - for I will keep the commandments of my God.
4. David's Request of God's Word -
He's Seeking -
Grace - 116 Uphold me according unto thy word,
Growth - that I may live:
Greatness - and let me not be ashamed of my hope.
5. David's Rest with God's Word.
It's Source - 117 Hold thou me up,
It's Security - and I shall be safe:
It's Stability - and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.

A Demanding Word - 118 Thou hast trodden down
A Dividing Word - all them that err from thy statutes:
A Discerning Word - for their deceit is falsehood.
A Devouring Word - 119 Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross:
A Divulging Word - therefore I love thy testimonies.
A Disturbing Word - 120 My flesh trembleth for fear of thee;
A Disclosing Word - and I am afraid of thy judgments.
