God's Looking For A Andrew! June 23, 2019

John 1:40-42

John 1:40-One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

41-He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ).

42-And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, A Stone)

Peter was the one speaking up

Peter was the one out in front

Peter was one that was quick to make promises

Peter was the one who pulled out his sword when they came to arrest Jesus

Peter James and John was the Disciples of Jesus, that Jesus with Him at the mount Transfiguration.

It was Peter and the two sons of Zebedee who went with him to pray in the garden

Peter and John were the ones who ran to the tomb after the women had told them about the resurrection of Jesus

At Pentecost Peter stood up and preach the gospel and 3000 men were saved and receive the Holy Spirit

Peter and John was going to the temple and a crippled man was looking for alms

Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.

There might be some here that have stuck their foot in their mouth at times, then you might be like Peter!

There might be some that have preached and thousands of people have come to Christ, then they might be like Peter!

There might be some who deny Jesus, then they might be like Peter!

I doubt very seriously that any of us that is born or will be born, has ever walked on water other than Jesus, so you and I may never accomplish what Peter was able to accomplish or what Peter did in his life time.

We may not reach as many people or influence as many people as Peter did in his lifetime.

We may not write literature that has lasted throughout the years

Literature that has brought hope and confirmation and encouragement to those who read it!

I said you and I…...I said you and I, maybe here for one purpose and one purpose only.

We might be only here on this Earth to do one thing, to do it Faithful.

Because of that one thing Lives will be changed

Hearts will be mended!

The tide of evil will be turned around and headed in the direction of holiness!

You see you and I may never be Peter

We may never have the influence he had

We might never have the opportunities he had.

That does not mean that we're not as important to the kingdom of God as Peter was!

You and I may never be Peter but I want you to think about this, it there was not a Andrew?

If there was not one who would go and get Peter and bring him to Jesus?

All of those experiences we have read about in the New Testament without the involvement of Andrew might not have happened!

500 dollars to person who can tell me who told Jesus about the boy who had five loaves & two small fish…..Andrew! (Pay them Edith!)

John 6:8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,

9 "There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?"

Even Andrew made mistakes, had doubt but doesn’t take away from the fact God used him!!

Those ones who were saved and receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost may have never been able to hear the gospel preached if it was not the pivotal role of Andrew!

Andrew might have accomplished other things in life to benefit the Gospel of Jesus Christ but we know for sure but without a shadow of a doubt that one great accomplishment that he did what's to go get his brother Peter and bring him to Jesus.

I just want to remind you if you have ever wondered what your purpose on this Earth was, it might be that you were to reach your Peter!!

There are people out there to need to hear the gospel and they need someone like Andrew to bring them to Christ
