Psalm 127 God's House

1 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it

1. A Divinely Founded House - God Must Build His House -

1 Except the Lord build the house - Mt 16:18 and upon this rock I will build my church;

and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

There is only One SOURCE - 1 Except the Lord

There is only One SUPPLY - build the house,

There is only One STRATEGY - they labour in vain

There is only One SECURITY - that build it

II. A Divinely Fortified House - God Must Brace His House -

1 Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain

The SOURCE - Jude 24 Now unto him

The SECURITY - that is able to keep you from falling,

The SUFFICIENCY - and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory

The SUPREMACY - with exceeding joy,

The SOVEREIGNTY - 25 to the only wise God

The SALVATION - our Saviour,

The SALUTATION - be glory and majesty, dominion and power,

The SATISFACTION - both now and ever. Amen. 1) The Will of God Must be Sought (Prayer)

2) The Word of God Must be Taught (Bible) 3) The Work of God Must be Wrought (In the Spirit Alone)

III. A Divinely Furnished House - God Must Benefit His House -

1. The Holy Enchantment of the House -

2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late,

2. The Happy Contentment in the House - to eat the bread of sorrows Heb. 13:5 be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

3. The Healthy Refreshment through the House -

for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

AMP - For He gives [blessings] to His beloved even in his sleep.

IV. A Divinely Favoured House - God Must Bless His House -

The Divine Increase -

3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

The Direct Release -

4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.

The flight, direction and effect of an arrow depends on the way it is produced, polished, pointed and poised.

The Distinct Showpiece - 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them:

they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate

V. A Divinely Finished House - God Must Bring His House Home -

Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen. 13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes
