Summary: God's divine protection shields His chosen ones from harm.
God's divine protection shields His chosen ones from harm, and any evil plot against them will ultimately backfire. The ungodly may scheme and plot, but their efforts will be futile against those protected by the Lord. God's angels surround and defend His chosen ones, ensuring their safety and deliverance. When the wicked attack the righteous, they invite God's judgment upon themselves. The Lord is the strength and protection of His chosen ones, and they can trust in His power to overcome every challenge. Those who dare to harm God's people will face severe punishment.
Few examples of how God punishes those who come against His chosen ones:
- Haman's Downfall: In the book of Esther, Haman's plot to destroy the Jews was thwarted, and he was hanged on the very gallows he had built for Mordecai (Esther 7:10).
- King Saul's Demise: King Saul's relentless pursuit of David ultimately led to his own downfall and death (1 Samuel 31:1-7).
- The Egyptians in the Red Sea: Pharaoh's decision to pursue the Israelites resulted in the destruction of his army in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:28).
- Ahithophel's Betrayal: Ahithophel's treachery against King David was met with judgment, and he took his own life (2 Samuel 17:23).
- Balaam's Rebuke: Balaam's attempt to curse Israel was met with a rebuke from God, and he was forced to bless the Israelites instead (Numbers 22-24).
- Herod's Demise: Acts 12:20-23 records the demise of Herod Agrippa I, who was struck down by God for not giving Him the glory for his accomplishments.
These examples demonstrate God's protection of His chosen ones and the consequences faced by those who dare to oppose Him.
