INTRODUCTION:
Many believers struggle with feelings of inadequacy, weakness, and self-doubt, forgetting that God has already deposited great potential within them. The call to "Go in this your might" was given to Gideon at a time when he saw himself as weak and incapable. However, God saw him as a mighty man of valour, equipped for victory.
This same call is relevant today. There are battles to fight, assignments to fulfil, and destinies to manifest. God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called. He sees beyond our limitations and empowers us for exploits. Every believer carries divine strength, but many fail to activate it because of fear, unbelief, or ignorance.
The key to walking in divine might is recognising that strength is not in ourselves but in God. The more we trust in Him and step out in faith, the more His power is made manifest in us. Let us examine how we can walk in this divine might and fulfil our God-given destiny.
1. RECOGNISING THE MIGHT WITHIN YOU
Before stepping into your divine assignment, you must first acknowledge the strength God has given you.
a) God has placed potential in every believer – There is greatness within you that must be awakened (Jeremiah 1:5).
b) The Holy Spirit empowers us for exploits – We are not operating in our own strength but in the power of the Spirit (Acts 1:8).
c) Your might is hidden in your obedience to God – When Gideon obeyed God, his strength was revealed (Judges 6:25-27).
d) Faith unlocks the strength of God in you – Those who trust in God do great exploits (Daniel 11:32).
e) Biblical Example: David, though young, recognised that God’s might was in him and defeated Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45-50).
2. OVERCOMING THE SPIRIT OF FEAR AND DOUBT
Fear and doubt are the biggest enemies of walking in divine might.
a) Fear paralyses potential – Gideon was afraid, but God assured him of victory (Judges 6:12).
b) Doubt hinders divine strength – When Peter doubted, he began to sink (Matthew 14:29-31).
c) God has not given us the spirit of fear – Instead, He has given us power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
d) Boldness comes through faith in God’s promises – Joshua was commanded to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9).
e) Biblical Example: Moses initially doubted himself, but when he trusted God, he led Israel out of Egypt (Exodus 3:11-12).
3. ENGAGING THE POWER OF GOD’S WORD
The Word of God is the source of divine strength and might.
a) The Word builds faith and confidence – Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
b) The Word reveals our true identity in Christ – We are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).
c) Speaking the Word activates divine strength – Jesus overcame the devil by declaring the Word (Matthew 4:4,7,10).
d) Meditating on the Word brings spiritual empowerment – Joshua was told to meditate on the Word to prosper (Joshua 1:8).
e) Biblical Example: Ezekiel prophesied to the dry bones, and life came into them (Ezekiel 37:4-10).
4. STEPPING OUT IN FAITH AND TAKING ACTION
God’s might is revealed as we take bold steps of faith.
a) Faith without works is dead – We must act on God’s instructions (James 2:26).
b) Moving forward activates divine strength – The Red Sea parted only when Israel stepped forward (Exodus 14:15-16).
c) Miracles happen when we act in faith – The woman with the issue of blood was healed when she stepped out (Mark 5:25-34).
d) Delayed obedience limits divine manifestation – Jonah ran from his assignment but found no peace (Jonah 1:1-3).
e) Biblical Example: Peter walked on water because he stepped out in faith at Jesus' command (Matthew 14:28-29).
5. DEPENDING ON THE STRENGTH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
It is not by human power but by the Spirit of God that we do great things.
a) The Holy Spirit is our helper and enabler – He strengthens us for divine assignments (John 14:26).
b) Spiritual strength comes through prayer and fellowship with the Spirit – Jesus prayed before major decisions (Luke 6:12-13).
c) The anointing empowers us for supernatural exploits – It is the anointing that breaks the yoke (Isaiah 10:27).
d) The Holy Spirit gives wisdom and direction – He leads us into all truth (John 16:13).
e) Biblical Example: Samson’s strength came from the Spirit of God, not from his physical abilities (Judges 14:6).
CONCLUSION:
Every believer has divine might within them, but it must be recognised, activated, and utilised. Like Gideon, we may feel unqualified, but God has already empowered us for victory. By overcoming fear, engaging God’s Word, stepping out in faith, and depending on the Holy Spirit, we will walk in supernatural strength.
