Go! And Trust God’s Perfect Plan

Psalm 84:11 (NLT): "For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right."

Opening Prayer::

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the truth of Your Word. Thank You for being our sun—our source of life—and our shield—our source of protection. As we open the Scriptures, stir our hearts, renew our minds, and help us trust completely in Your perfect will. Let Christ be magnified. Let lives be transformed. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Introduction: A Compass in Uncertain Times

Have you ever walked through a season where life didn’t make sense? Where circumstances were painful, confusing, and even frightening? Times when you asked, “God, what are You doing?”

It is in those moments that we must go and trust God's perfect plan—even when we don’t understand it.

Let’s anchor our hearts today in a truth that never changes:

Point 1: God Is Always Good, Even When Life Is Hard

Psalm 84:11 (NLT): "For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right."

"Sun" (???????, shemesh) – Symbol of provision, warmth, and sustaining power.

"Shield" (?????, magen) – Symbol of protection, defence in battle.

"No good thing" (????, tov) – That which is beneficial, pleasing, in alignment with God’s purpose.

This Psalm is a declaration of God's faithfulness to those who walk uprightly—not perfectly, but those who seek and trust Him.

Charles Stanley wrote: “Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.”

And I say Amen to that! Our job isn’t to understand every step—it’s to trust the One who lights the path and shields the journey.

Point 2: Jesus Is Our Peace in a Troubled World

John 16:33 (NLT): “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Jesus speaks these words just before going to the cross. He doesn’t sugar-coat reality—trials and sorrows are part of life—but He promises peace in Him.

Greek word for "peace" is e????? (eirene) – meaning more than quietness—it’s inner rest and completeness that comes from God alone.

Illustration: The Eye of the Storm

A hurricane rages, yet at the centre—the eye—there is calm. That’s what it’s like to walk with Jesus in life’s storms. The world may shake, but in Christ, we are unshaken.

Max Lucado said: “God never said the journey would be easy, but He did say the arrival would be worthwhile.”

Jesus overcame the world—not just in theory, but through the cross, the tomb, and the empty grave!

Point 3: God Works All Things Together for Good

Romans 8:28 (NLT): "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them."

Paul isn’t saying all things are good—but that God works them together for good.

"Work together" (s??e????, synergeo) – where we get the word “synergy”—God orchestrates even pain, failure, and difficulty for a greater outcome.

This verse is not just comfort—it’s a call to trust even when we don’t see how it all fits.

John Piper said: “God is always doing 10,000 things in your life, and you may be aware of three of them.”

Isn’t that humbling and freeing? We don’t need all the answers—we need to trust the God who holds them.

Point 4: Trust in God’s Wisdom, Not Your Own

Romans 11:33–36 (NLT): “Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! … For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.”

God’s wisdom is unsearchable—beyond tracing out. He knows the full story. He sees the end from the beginning.

Jeremiah 32:17 (NLT): “O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!”

Hebrew: “Nothing is too hard” – ???????????? (lo yippale’) – Nothing is too extraordinary or impossible.

Beloved, whatever you are facing today, it is not too hard for God.

Point 5: Trust Requires Prayerful Dependence

Philippians 4:6–7 (NLT): "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything... Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand."

Paul doesn’t say don’t feel anxiety—he says don’t be ruled by it. The way to peace is prayerful dependence.

Tim Keller said: “Prayer is not merely a way to get things from God but a way to get more of God Himself.”

When we go to God in prayer, we’re not just handing Him our problems—we’re embracing His presence and trusting His plan.
