Glow In The Dark: No Room For Darkness Series

Today: There is no room for darkness in the life of a Christian.
Spiritually speaking, you cannot expect God's blessing in your life, you cannot expect to grow closer to Jesus if you are feeding on the junk of the world.
"No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on it's stand, so that those who come in may see the light. Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, [a] your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, [b] your whole body also is full of darkness. See to it then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when s lamp shines it's light on you." Luke 11:33-36
If Jesus, the light of the world is the light of our life, there is no room for darkness. Light and darkness cannot share space.
A. What your eyes see shape who you will be.
When I saw - child being born
When I saw - a faithful Christian slip into eternity
When I saw - the ocean for the first time
When I saw - the Declaration of Independence
When I saw - the Challenger explode
When I saw - the Towers collapse
When I saw - someone coming forward to accept Jesus
B. We must be careful what we take in through our eyes.
For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life- comes not from the Father but from the world. 1 John 2:16
Jesus said if a man LOOKS at a woman lustfully, he has already committed adultery. It's not talking about a glance. It's talking about allowing our eyes and out mind, and our heart to be mesmerized and led into darkness.
C. Where your mind is, there you will be also.
The things of this world can so powerfully and slowly bring darkness into our lives. Before we know it that Jesus inferno can become nothing more than a spark.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2
Renewing of the mind:
PRAYER - I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in His holy people, Ephesians 1:18
PURSUIT - We have to run FROM the things of this world. We have run TO the things of God.
PRAISE - Intentional, unashamedly praising God daily!
PRACTICE - Doing the right things because they are right!
D. Your life will reflect what is inside you.
There are no shadows in the dark. There is no reflection. You will either hide Jesus in darkness or declare Jesus in the light. The great commission! Matthew 28:18-20
Remember the song, "This little light of mine, I's gonna let it shine."
