Give God First Place

Summary: In everything that we say or do, does God have the priority, or do we give God the same emphasis as we do the spare tire? (Only when needed!)
Give God First Place
Matthew 6:25-34.
Too many people are seeking first the kingdom of pleasure and possessions. But Jesus promised, “all these things shall be added unto you” if you give
Him first place.
1.With your Time.
James 4:14a “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life?
A.Multitudes are using their time for selfish things. Christians especially, “they forget that their life is not their own, they are bought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus.”
B.Life is brief at best. James 4:14b “It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” The only thing that lasts is what we do for the Lord.
C.We should give Time: by visiting the sick, comforting the lonely, lending a helping hand, and sharing Christ with the unsaved.
D.We must give God control of our Time: by praying, by studying God’s word daily, by attending church, and by working for the furtherance of his kingdom.
2.With your Talents. John 6:27 “Labour…for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life…”
A.Many Christians fail to give God first place with their talents. Their too busy making a name for themselves and making money is their top priority.
B.Many don’t use their talents because they feel they are not good enough, even though God gave them their talent.
C.We must use them or loss them. When we use them God will increase our gifts.
D.Our talents should be used to glorify God, and to be a blessing to others.
3.With your Treasures. Luke 12:15, “…a man’s life consiseth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”
A.In today’s society the Love of possessions has captured the hearts of millions. People are selling their souls to get material wealth.
B.Christians must give God first place with their Treasure. Tithing is a good place to start.
C.We should give freely to assist the less fortunate.
Matt. 6:19-21, “ Let us lay up treasure in heaven, not on earth.”
