Summary: To be excited about the things the Lord has done for us

Getting Excited--Acts 17:2-8

Introduction: Webster says the meaning of excitement is "to be stirred or thrilled." Many get excited at ball games or golf or other events. Some will be thrilled at the getting of a new dress or suit. I believe it is time we got excited over things that will last for all eternity.

I-JESUS CAUSED EXCITEMENT EVERYWHERE HE WENT

1-in his entry into Jersaluem--Mark 11

2-in his birth-Luke 2

3-in every town and village he entered into

II-LOOK AT THOSE THAT GOT EXCITED ABOUT JESUS

1-the Gadarene in the graveyard--Mark 5

2-Woman at the well--John 4

3-blind boy in John 9

4-lame man at the gate in Acts 3

5-I think it is time we joined these in getting

excited.

III-WE SHOULD BE EXCITED ABOUT BEING SAVED

1-greatest thing that ever happened to me

2-nothing could ever take the place of knowing you

have a right standing with the Lord.

3-burden of sin gone-joy and peace, contentment in

heart

4-can sleep like a baby at night

III-WE SHOULD BE EXCITED ABOUT SEEING OTHERS SAVED

1-remember how it felt, when somone you had been

praying for finally got saved?

2-I see many in churches during the altar call, act

as if it is bother when someone comes to the altar

3-folk get coats on, looking for belongings as if in

a hurry to get out--no thought of one at altar

4-moms and dads have asked me to pray for their kids.

when prayers are answered, the parents wouldn't

come to the altar to pray with them, as they wept

their way to Christ.--God help.

5-we need to be stirred and thrilled about seeing

others saved

IV-WE SHOULD BE EXCITED ABOUT OUR CHURCH

1-Look how the Lord has bleesed our crowd

2-Look at our buildings he has blessed us with

3-think of where we came from and where we are now-

ought to make us shout "GLORY"
