Funeral Service Michael Christopher Dillon

• Friends, we have gathered here to praise God

and to witness to our faith as we celebrate the life of Michael Christopher Dillon

• We come together in grief, acknowledging our human loss.

• May God grant us grace, that in pain we may find comfort,

in sorrow hope, in death resurrection.

1. Something’s I learned about Mike

• Worked 43 or so years in the mines

• He took great pride in providing for his family

• He will be remembered by his steady presence, kind heart and the love he had for his family

• Michael loved Loki not just his wife his children his grandchildren but his dog Loki

2. Michael Christopher Dillon was ready “Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.” –

• Michael had a Deep desire to be ready. Be ready for you know not the day the hour in which the Son of man Cometh. Michael looked unto the hills from whence his help cometh”

• He understood that life is fleeting, and eternity is certain. “Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning.”

• With humility, he requested to be saved, and later, in obedience to Christ’s command, he was baptized.

• That decision was not just a ritual, but a declaration of faith — a public testimony that he belonged to Jesus Christ.

3. Because of Michael desire to be ready He receives the promises of God

• His journey reminds us of the promise of God in Romans 10:9: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

• Michael believed, he confessed, and he followed and He receive the Promise of eternal life

• His baptism was a symbol of dying to the old life and rising to walk in newness of life, as Paul wrote in Romans 6:4: “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”

4. Michael desired assurance, Peace, and faith

• Michael’s desire of readiness for eternity is not about perfection, but about faith.

• Michael wanted to be sure — sure that his soul was secure; sure that he had peace with God.

• Sure that his final resting place was with Jesus.

5. Because of his desire to be ready we family do not have to grieve we can celebrate

• We do not grieve as those who have no hope. The Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14: “Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.”

6. This time this moment is a time not just to mourn but to celebrate

• We celebrate not only his life, but the eternal life he now enjoys

• We celebrate because he in the presence of his Savior.

• We celebrate because His journey is complete,

• his faith has become sight, and his hope has been fulfilled.

• We celebrate because death is NO more for Michael Christopher Dillion Revelation 21:4: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

• Family Michael is home. He is safe. He is with Jesus. And one day, for those who share his faith, we will see him again.

• Finally, Family God has given you a treasure, a jewel, a pearl of great price. And now family its time to give that treasure, that jewel, that pearl of Great price Michael Christopher Dillon back to the one who created him and when we have received a precious gif we say Thank you God.
