Summary: The living creatures’ vision and eyesight is full of God. Having so many eyes is a figurative speech for saying that their vision is full of God. All their focus is only on God, and they do not see anything else. They perceive nothing else; they are solely focused on God.

And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. Revelation 4:6

I wondered why the living creatures had so many eyes, both in front and behind them. I've recently come to realize that the phrase "full of eyes" or "many eyes" refers to a metaphorical or figurative speech that indicates that the living creature’s eyesight or vision is filled with God alone and that they don’t see anything else. The living creatures’ vision and eyesight is full of God. Having so many eyes is a figurative speech for saying that their vision is full of God. All their focus is only on God, and they do not see anything else. They perceive nothing else; they are solely focused on God. They have an undivided and unwavering concentration(focus) to see God and adore him.

The living creatures are before the throne, with their focus only on God (and nothing else) and with that focus they worship God. They worship God with their entire attention on God. Their eyesight and vision are filled with seeing and adoring God. With all their eyes and vision focussed on God, they adore and worship God.

What a privilege it is for the living creatures to be able to see an undivided, lofty majestic view of God. Their vision is adjusted only to see God and nothing else. They are lost(engrossed) in God’s Glory and worshipping God. Nothing else mattered to them apart from God and His Glory. They are caught up in eternal cycle of worship because their focus is on God only.

Imagine how amazing our worship will be if we start living like the living creatures and put all of our focus, attention, and view only on Jesus and nothing else. When we put all our focus and attention on Jesus, we might have a chance to worship God forever and ever like the living creatures.

Let our vision and eyesight be filled with only Jesus. No wonder Fanny Crosby composed so many songs. Her physical eyes were closed, but her spiritual eyes are wide open. She wrote so many songs about Jesus because her vision was filled with Jesus alone and nothing else. Her eyes might be so much filled with so many wonders and glories of Jesus. She might have had so many spiritual eyes like the living creatures, so she wrote so many songs.

Today do check your vision or eyesight. Is your focus only on Jesus? Because your attention is diverted from Jesus alone to something else, you are not able to worship him for long time. If you keep your focus only on Jesus, you can worship him for a long time. Make a decision to turn your eyes to Jesus alone.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Look full in His wonderful face

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of His glory and grace.

Let this song be your life and let we always see Jesus alone.
