Fresh Fire: The Holy Spirit In The World Today Series

Our theme for this year is Fresh Fire and our preaching this year is going to focus on The Holy Spirit and each month we will focus on a

specific aspect of His ministry.

The Holy Spirit is an important part of the trinity, yet I would take an educated guess that most of the sermons you will have heard over the years have focused on God the Father or on God the Son.

I know that you will have heard sermons about the gifts of the spirit or the fruit of the spirit - but you have probably never really heard that much about the Spirit Himself.

The concept of God as Creator and Father we get, the understanding that Jesus was born, died and rose again to save us from our sins we grasp.

The presence and the work of the Spirit in our lives - now that is an area where many Christians can feel out of their depth.

As a Pentecostal Church we should know more about the Spirit than we do, and as a Ministry team we felt the Lord has clearly leading us to put together a preaching programme that will deepen our understanding of Who the Holy Spirit is, What He does, and how we can experience a fresh fire in our lives as we allow Him to work in all of us and through all of us.

Over the next 12 months we are going to be looking at different aspects of The Spirit.

I think this will be a year that can really impact each and everyone of us.

My prayer is that all of us will allow ourselves to be inspired, moved and changed by the Holy Spirit.

Friends, all of us at times can quench the power of the Spirit in our own lives, let me challenge you from the outset - allow the Spirit to work in your life.

Allow the fire to burn bright in your life - that your life may be a beacon to others.

Allow the fire of the Spirit to use you to bring truth and life and light to people who need to be in a personal relationship with God.

Allow the Holy Spirit to make you the person God has called you to be.

If each of us allowed the Spirit to use us this year what a difference we could make - in our families, in our friends lives, in the life of this community.

What a difference we could make in the World today if we allowed the Holy Spirit to take control!

Fresh fire, a fresh supply, fresh anointing, fresh power, a burning love for God, a burning love to know Him and to serve Him.

Do you want to experience the Holy Spirit?

Do you want fresh fire today?

In the Bible God often chose fire to be the symbol of His presence.

Throughout history, Revival has always been associated with fire.

In the World today we need Revival don’t we.

So many hearts and minds and lives need to be touched by the Power of God.

So many lives are broken, so many relationships are damaged, so many are in despair, so many

prodigals seem to be wandering in the wilderness.

Oh how we need to see the Spirit of God move today.

Listen to Jeremiah 23:29 “Does not my word burn like fire?”says the Lord. “Is it not like a mighty hammer that smashes a rock to pieces?

The word of God is like fire and like a hammer that will break down barriers.

The Spirit can use the word of God to break into pieces those things that seem like impossible mountains in your life.

Today the spirit can burn down the walls of problems and issues and circumstances.

Do you want fresh fire in your life today?

Fire consumes - it burns out the sinful and unnecessary “stuff” in our lives.

Fire purifies - it makes us pure and holy before God
