Summary: How can surrender set you free?

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

To be completely free our body, soul, spirit, mind and emotions must be completely healthy and healed. Many times when a person has been physically, mentally or emotionally abused, rejected, wounded, or hurt in some way, there is an emotional wound that needs to be healed. Our goal is not to forget a hurtful event or trauma, because we learn so much from it. To receive healing for that event, is where the Holy Spirit removes the stinger from it. When we look back upon a healed wound or emotional pain, we can see it and experience it in a total different way, because it has been healed and will no longer be painful to look at. God can also remove the memory of hurt from the very cells of your body to such an extent that you will remember the event, but forget all the detail of the actual trauma. That is what we need to get every time anything hurtful happens in our lives. We need to reach the point where we see the hurt coming at us, but a barrier of God’s love and protection will be so tightly knit around us, that it will be as if we are elevated above our bodies. It must be as if nothing can enter into our souls or spirits and cause any damage. To get to that level we need to go deep and experience once more every single hurt, pain and emotion to finally deal with it and get rid of it with the help of the Holy Spirit. For this to happen you have to be very, very honest with yourself. You also need to be ready to give every single, detail and emotion of your life to Jesus. Total surrender is crucial for total and complete healing. Are you ready to take this step? Are you ready to experience intimacy with God? Are you ready to leave your old life behind and begin a new life with God?

Loving Father, I surrender to You today with all my heart and soul. Please come into my heart in a deeper way. I say “Yes” to You today. I open all the secret places in my heart to you and say, “Come on in.” Jesus, You are Lord of my whole life. I believe in You and receive You as my Lord and Savior. I hold nothing back. Holy Spirit, bring me in a deeper relationship with You, Jesus. I surrender all to you: my health, my family, my resources, occupation, skills, relationships, time management, successes and failures. I release it, and let it go. I surrender my understanding of how things out to be; my choices and my will. I surrender to You the promises I have kept and the promises I have failed to keep. I surrender my weaknesses and strengths to You. I surrender my emotions, my fears, my insecurities, my everything. I surrender _________, _________,___________. (Continue to surrender other areas as the Holy Spirit reveals them to you). Lord, I surrender my entire life to You, the past, the present and the future. In sickness and in health, in life and in death, I belong to You. “Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, all that I have and possess. You have given all of me. To you, O Lord, and I return it. All is Yours. Dispose of it wholly according to Your will. Give me Your Love and Your grace, for this is sufficient for me.” Father God, let your will be done in my life. Let it give You honor and glory. For thine is the kingdom, and the power and the glory, forever and ever. On earth as it is in Heaven. In the Name of Yeshua, Jesus Christ my Savior and King. Amen.
