Forever!

FOREVER!

1 Chronicles 28:7'I will establish his kingdom forever if he resolutely performs My commandments and My ordinances, as is done now.'

Ah! God is serious! He is pretty crystal clear about what He would do, based on what we would do, are you listening? To put it in simple words, this is what God says, ”I will bless you forever if you continue to obey me forever!” The stomping baseline of ‘blessing’ is nicely juxtaposed with ‘action’ that is necessary for it. The dictionary defines the word ‘forever’ as endlessly, repeatedly and always, isn’t that wonderful? A man who promises his girl that he would love her forever, would ditch her within a wink of an eye, callous statements don’t last. Caveat!

Friend, hear this, if you steadfastly obey the laws of God, He would also keep His word and would love you forever! That’s a sure promise! No matter how you are, no matter how you look, no matter how old you are, His Word never falters. Last week, I went to visit an elderly couple whom I know for several years, I was told that aunty was suffering from memory loss and was very weak. Just as I entered their house, I heard her husband harshly scold her for behaving stupidly. I not only heard but I saw his rude face and also the tearful face of the already bewildered woman, who worked all her life to take care of her husband but now that she was old, weak and disoriented, he was treating her very badly. She sobbed when she saw me, I tell you, that scene still haunts me, what a wicked world we live in. Friend, let me pause and tell you to be true to God, who is worthy of our love and life. Why waste your life on frivolous things that would never last forever, are you listening? Psalm 33:11”But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.”

Friend, every product of this world has an ‘expiry date’ but not that of God! Every love of this world has an ‘expiry date’ but not that of God! Psalm 100:5 “For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

If you’re compromising church and attending work on Sundays, let me warn you now, that job would not last forever, any time they would give you the pink slip. Get back to God who would protect you forever! God says, Hosea 2:19 "I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and in justice, In loving kindness and in compassion.”

Today I counseled a young woman on being truthful to God, so that He would establish her marriage forever! Are you listening? He would bless your job, your kids, your future, your health and wealth forever, if only you serve Him truthfully until the end. No breaks please.

Psalm 48:14”For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.”
