John 6:27 (Amplified Bible)

Stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes [in the using], but strive and work and produce rather for the [lasting] food which endures [continually] unto life eternal; the Son of Man will give (furnish) you that, for God the Father has authorized and certified Him and put His seal of endorsement upon Him.

We are to prioritize and strive to enrich our relationship with FATHER GOD and the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

A. Don't work for food that spoils

"Stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes [in the using]"

Romans 8:5 (Amplified Bible)

For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.

1 John 2:16-17 (Amplified Bible)

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]—these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].

And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever.

We are to work for, strive after life in the Spirit so we desire and prioritize spiritual things.
