FLAT EARTH, SOLAR SYSTEM, AND GALAXIES: A BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE

(by brother Tarran Dookie)

NO PLURALITY OF WORLDS

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. There is no mention of galaxies or planets, either in Genesis or any other book of the Bible. There is also no compelling evidence that galaxies or planets exist. People have been fed a lie about galaxies and planets for centuries. The deception is similar to the falsehood about evolution. Christians should follow the word of God and not the vain imaginations and theories of men.

Gen 1:26-28 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Man was created to rule over the earth. He is to subdue it and have dominion over the fish, the fowl and creatures of the earth. There is no possibility of man venturing beyond earth's atmosphere, no matter what is touted about space ventures and so-called moon landings.

Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.

The word 'worlds' used in Heb 1:2 is the Greek word 'aionas' which means ages. The same Greek word is used in Eph 1:21, Luke 18:30, Mat 12:32 (speaking of this age and the age to come). The word 'worlds' used in Heb 1:2 has nothing to do with so-called planets and galaxies.

Isa 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

Earth was not created in vain; it was formed to be inhabited. No other place (be it called Mars, Jupiter, etc.) was created to be inhabited and will never be inhabited. Indeed such places will never even be visited, for they exist only in the imagination of vain men.

Rev 6:13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

The stars of heaven falling to earth shows their nearness to earth and that they are relatively small and not huge.

THE FIRMAMENT

Gen 1:6-8 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Jer 10:13 When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.

A firmament called heaven was made by God. The firmament serves as a divider as waters above the firmament were divided from waters below the firmament. The Hebrew word for firmament is 'raqiya' and refers to the vault of heaven supporting waters above. 'Raqiya' is considered by Hebrews as a solid expanse.

Gen 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

In the days of Noah the fountains of the great deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened, resulting in the great flood. God caused the waters divided by the firmament to operate together in bringing about the deluge.

Gen 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

Deut 26:15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
