Luke 4:1-2
1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2Being forty days tempted of the devil.
“Lets Pray”
Look at you neighbor this morning and tell them its time to:
“Fill Err Up”
Let me ask you a question, Have you ever been driving in your car and run out of gas? Oh it’s a horrible feeling, You know how the drama plays out, your eyes are like laser beams on the gas needle, that has now moved precariously beyond the “E” and you are pleading with the car to make it just one more mile to next gas station, and then you hear a very unsettling sound…Silence. Your engine has cut off and you coast over to the side of the road and you have officially run out of gas! Let me ask you another question this morning. Have you ever run out of gas spiritually? Oh you know what I am talking about, Going to church out of a duty but not out of desire, I am talking about going through the motions, saying you’re a Christian but that’s as far as it goes, talking the talk but not necessarily walking the walk, praying occasionally, reading the word sometimes, giving once an while but never till it hurts. Have you ever found yourselves cruising around in Life with the needle of your Christian Gas Tank precariously beyond the “E”? Are you running on fumes this morning? Oh my friend Then I got a word for you today its time to “Fill Err Up” Its time to “Fill Err Up” look at you other neighbor and say ‘I may have pulled in on empty” “but I am leaving on full” hallelujah. You may have come today out of a spiritual obligation, you may have come today because that’s what Christians do on Sundays but I am here to tell you are going leave with a burning fire in your belly from which rivers of living water will come forth, Your leaving with some passion, you’re going to leave with some destiny, your going to leave with some purpose, you’re going to leave with some Spiritual Gas in your tank. Its time to “Fill Err Up”
Many Christians today find themselves trying to operate their vehicles half full or quarter full or dare I even say that many Christians are trying to operate as a child of God while their spiritual tanks are on empty, but Jesus never designed it to be that way.
In John 10:10
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come “Jesus has come, Yahweh has come, the alpha and the omega has come, the great I am has come, the bright and morning star has come, the Lilly of the valley has come, the rose of Sharon has come, the prince of peace has come, the healer has come, the king of kings has come, the lord of lords has come, that “YOU” might have life, and that “YOU” might have it more abundantly.
Everyone say abundantly..
God never intended us to walk around with our spiritual tanks ½ full or ¼ full and he surely didn’t come to die on a cross for us so that we can go around running on spiritual fumes just waiting to run out of gas. Can I get an A-men! Christ has laid out the blue prints for an Abundant Life! Life to full! New Life! Life everlasting!
But the question is: how do we prepare ourselves for such a life? What do we have to do to in order to move ourselves from being just about out of spiritual gas and operating on empty to a season of Overflow? That’s a great question and we don’t have to look any further than our scripture text for the answer. “Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost” There it is my friends in order to live this Abundant Life we must be “Full Of The Holy Ghost” To operate in the atmosphere of Overflow we need to get baptized in the Holy Spirit. Education cant give it to you, money or status wont give it to you, cars and houses and toys wont do it for you, Solomon said it this way Vanity! its all Vanity! If you want to move out in the miraculous you need to Get Filled or in other words you need to “Fill Err Up” Become Full Of The Holy Ghost.
