Summary: God’s people will be strong and do great exploits
EXPLOITS by Gerald Van Horn
Daniel 11:32, “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries, but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.”
Dictionary definition: Exploits- “An interesting or daring action or achievement”
In the light of the text, we conclude three great and wonderful facts:
“(1)This is the time, (2)This is the place and (3)We are the people.”
1. This the time.
Throughout history God has chosen many to fulfill His purpose.
*When God needed a friend He chose Abraham.
*When God needed a deliverer He chose Moses.
*When God needed a people to call His own He chose Israel.
*When God needed a leader He could trust He chose Joshua.
*When God needed a Savior He sent Jesus.
They all had their time in history.
When God needed a witness in the earth He chose the church. He chose ( your Church name). This is our time!
In Acts the church came into existence. Acts 2:17 “And it shall come to pass in the last days (the days that we live in now)I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh.
** This is (Your church name) time. No need to wait for revival for the revival is here - it is the “now” time for our church.
The Devil knows it’s our time and he is doing everything to stop us.
What are the odds that those of you who are here would come to this hour?
( I am not a gambler) - but God knew we would be here and especially for
this time.
If this is our time, then let us seize the moment! It’s time to stand up for
Jesus and declare our faith in Him.
2. This is The Place.
God chose us to be in this place.
If and when we move, let’s go out with a shout!
When we move to our new location, let’s shout again!
God has given us our city and county.
The people that know God will be strong and do exploits.
* We have been given the authority but we also need the power.
Ill. There was a survey company that told a farmer, “We are building a rail road through your property.” The foreman said, “See on this paper, I have been given the authority to cross your property.” The old farmer looked at the paper and said, “Well, O.K.” The foreman entered the pasture and here came a big bull and started chasing him. The only recourse he had was to run around a tree with the bull right after him. “Help, help”, hollered the
foreman! The farmer said “Show him the paper!” You see, he may have had the authority but he also needed the power. River of Life Fellowship has the authority but we must seek God for the power also.
3. We Are The People.
I Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, and a people of His own, that you should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (v.10) Who in time past were not a people but are now the people of God.”
We are the wild branch that was grafted into the natural branch to become the people of God (your church name), we are those people. We have flourished under God’s economy.”
(1) We are up to the task God has put before us.
(2) If God be for us, who can be against us?
(3) Is God picking on us? Yes
However, we need to get out of the bleachers and down on the playing field.
This is no time for armchair quarterbacks. We have the message! “Of whom much is given much is required.” Luke 12:48
“Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 I am sure that God who has begun this good work in you will carry it out until it is finished!
