Everyman’s Journey
Hebrews 9.27
Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Every person must come to the end of this life. Whether the number of years is great or few, we all must come to the end of the way.
The Bible tells us about many who lived so many years and then he died.
Adam lived 930, Seth 912, Enos 905, Methuselah 969, Noah 950.
Jesus lived 33 ½ years on this world and He tasted death for us all. We all have a journey that we must take, unless the Lord comes back.
There are some things in this life over which we have no choice.
1—Every person is born into this world without choosing to do so. We leave this life without choosing to do so.
2—Read Text.
3—The call of death comes to us. Sometimes it is unexpected and without warning. Sometimes it is a lingering call full of suffering and delay.
Irregardless, it is a call that comes to us all. We have no choice in the matter. And we must be prepared for the call.
There are some things in this life that man does choose.
A man chooses how he lives his life. He chooses his associates and friends; he chooses his job; he chooses a mate.
Our lives are filled with choices everyday, and these choices are ones that we must make.
Man not only has everyday choices, but he also chooses where he will spend eternity.
Joshua told the Israelites just before he died, to “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve.”
God will not force you to serve Him, he gives you free will. You make the choice. Choose Him and live forever in heaven.
Reject Him and live forever in hell. It’s really simple. It is a yes or no answer, and there is no in between.
John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
If you choose not to believe, your place in hell is already reserved for you. When you check in is determined by when your journey into eternity comes.
John 14:1-6 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. (2) In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (4) And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. (5) Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? (6) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
The only way into heaven is through the acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior.
Contrary to popular opinion in our pluralistic society, ALL roads do not lead to heaven.
There is only one road to heaven. All other roads lead to Hell.
Eternity doesn’t matter to me. When we die, that’s it. There is no heaven or hell.
There is no such thing as eternity.
Eternity is just a concept. Science says you have to measure everything. Everything has a beginning and an end. Eternity is not real.
Let me tell you something this morning. If that is what you believe, or you know someone that believes that way, I have bad news.
The devil has you right where he wants you. He has you blinded to the things of the Lord.
I also have some good news, Jesus heals blind people.
Eternity is Real. The Soul of Man Never Dies!
Joh 5:24-29 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (25) Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. (26) For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; (27) And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. (28) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, (29) And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
