Summary: Be Godly Everyday People
Title: Everyday People
Scripture: Romans 12:5 KJV:
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Introduction: In 1969, a musical group named Sly & The Family Stone recorded this song entitled, "Everyday People." This song talks about Sly Stone plead for peace and talks about how the world is today. Today, I want to talk about how we can be everyday people in the church far as loving one another and accepting one another and having peace and unity with each other.
Application: The 1st point is that we are not better than anyone else. We ain't perfect and that we all are trying make with God's help. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Remember that there is someone worser than you.
The 2nd point is to love each other. Jesus commanded us to love one another. John 13:34-35 says, "34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
The 3rd and final point is to be unified and have peace among all people. Psalms 133:1 says, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" John 17:21 says, "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." Ephesians 4:3 says, "Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
Conclusion: Get out and be Godly Everyday People. So on and so on and scooby dooby doo.
