Essentials During Trials

TEXT: JAMES 1:1-12

LEARNINGS FROM TRIALS OF LIVE

WHAT TO DO? (Reflect our attitudes in times like this)

1. RECOGNIZE (ANTICIPATE FOR IT )- V1. ALL CHRISTIANS WILL IN FACT FACE TRIALS OF MANY KINDS.

2. REJOICE (JOY IS IN THE HEART OF BELIVERS) - V2. COUNT IT ALL JOY.

3. REQUEST & RECEIVE WISDOM (ASK FOR WISDOM)- V5 BUT IF ANY OF YOU LACKS WISDOM, LET HIM ASK OF GOD . . . AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO HIM.”

• Why it is necessary (Bakit kailangan ng pag-subok?)

• God allows trials in order to test our faith. James 1:3 “Knowing the testing of your faith produces endurance” Testing – means tested and found proven; God is testing our faith in order to prove its strength. Unproven, untries faith is practically worthless. Paano mo malalaman na kaya mo nang humarap sa mga pagsubok kung di ito susubukin. 1Peter 6-7. “in this you greatly rejoice . . . you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith . . . may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

• God allows trials in order to test our devotions to Jesus.

• Rom 8:37 Hindi, kundi sa lahat ng mga bagay na ito tayo'y higit pa sa mga mapagtagumpay sa pamamagitan niyaong sa atin ay umibig. v38 Sapagka't ako'y naniniwalang lubos, na kahit ang kamatayan man, kahit ang buhay, kahit ang mga anghel, kahit ang mga pamunuan, kahit ang mga bagay na kasalukuyan, kahit ang mga bagay na darating, kahit ang mga kapangyarihan. v39 Kahit ang kataasan, kahit ang kababaan, kahit ang alin mang ibang nilalang, ay hindi makapaghihiwalay sa atin sa pagibig ng Dios, na nasa kay Cristo Jesus na Panginoon natin.

TRIALS TEACH TRUST (WALANG MAKAPAGHIHIHIWALAY SA ATIN KAY KRISTO! )

• TRIALS PURIFIES (God allows trials to purify our lives. )

• 1Co 3:11 For God has already placed Jesus Christ as the one and only foundation, and no other foundation can be laid. v12 Some will use gold or silver or precious stones in building on the foundation; others will use wood or grass or straw. v13 And the quality of each person's work will be seen when the Day of Christ exposes it. For on that Day fire will reveal everyone's work; the fire will test it and show its real quality. v14 If what was built on the foundation survives the fire, the builder will receive a reward.

Our trials is an opportunity to demonstrate His sustaining power for His children in tough times.

• TRIALS EDIFIES

• Sino ang nagpapabukal ng tubig sa ilang?

• Sino ang humati ng dagat na pula?

• Sino ang nagpapadala ng pagkain kay Elias sa panahon ng taggutom?

• Sino ang nag-ingat kay Shadrac, Meshac at Abednego sa loob ng pugon na naglalagablab?

• Sino ang nagpatikon ng bibig ng leon?

• Sino ang naglinis sa ketong ni Naaman?

• Sino ang nagpabagsak sa pader ng Jerico?

A major purpose of trials is to produce Christ-like character within us.

• Gal 5:22 Datapuwa't ang bunga ng Espiritu ay pagibig, katuwaan, kapayapaan, pagpapahinuhod, kagandahang-loob kabutihan, pagtatapat. V.23 Kaamuan, pagpipigil; laban sa mga gayong bagay ay walang kautusan.

• Trials equip us for service in the kingdom of God for the sake of Others

• 2 Cor. 1:4 “[God] comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” Therefore, God is using our trials to make us useful In helping others.

• TRIALS INTENSIFIES (STRENGTHEN OUR FAITH)

WHAT TO DO:

1. Magtiwala (Trust Him) – Trials Teach Trust

2. Matuto (Learn from Situation) – It is a school of learning – The best learning that will change the direction of our life is in though/bad time.

3. Maglingkod at Maging pagpapala sa Iba (Be a blessing) – help, give spiritual support, reach out

4. Manalangin – Ask, Believe, Confess, Declare
