Enjoy Life

Summary: If you’re a Christian, you should be enjoying life. If you are born again, if you have made Jesus Christ your Lord, you should be so satisfied, so joyful, so overflowing with life that you should seem almost ridiculously optimistic to the unbelievers aro
Remember, the next time that you are in a valley and the devil tries to cast a shadow of doubt or fear over you. Instead of letting that shadow scare you, just turn the light on and get rid of the silly thing. You are fully equipped to do that because the Bible says that you are born of light. Back in the Old Testament, this shadow of death was quite an extreme valley. But as New Testament believers, we don’t have to put up with the shadow of death like the Old Testament saints did. We have been delivered from the power of darkness and now we are in the kingdom of the Son of Light. Light defeats darkness, as New Testament believers we are to walk in the light.
Ephesians 5:8; “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:”
Paul is saying here, you may have been in darkness before, but NOW are you light in the Lord. How can we be tormented by darkness when we are children of light and as long as we are in the Lord, we are light? Light defeats darkness.
I John 1:7; “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
Colossians 1:12-13; “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:”
Don’t let the devil darken even one of your days. When he tries to darken your days and discourage you, throw him into confusion with the brightness of your light. We defeat the devil with light, because we are light, he is darkness.
In order to enjoy life we must realize that we have a Good Shepherd, also learn to chase away the shadows; the way we chase the shadows away is to:
KEEP THE LIGHT ON
This message is almost so simple that maybe I shouldn’t even be preaching it. Some of us have been stumbling around in darkness for so long that when we go and turn the spiritual light on, we can hardly see anything. Have you ever walked out of a dark room into bright sunshine? You can’t see anything for a moment or two. That is what happened to Saul on the road to Damascus. He has been living in such darkness, persecuting Christians, and when the glory of God shined on him, he couldn’t see for three days. Actually someone had to go pray for him to be filled with the Holy Ghost before he could get back his sight.
According to John 1:5 that is the effect light always has on darkness. John 1:5; “And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.”
The word translated, “comprehendeth” can also be translated “find.”
So, you can say this Scripture this way: “When the light shines in the darkness, the darkness cannot find it.” Wouldn’t you like to live a life so completely for the Lord and live so fully in the light that the devil couldn’t find you? I know what you are thinking; you are thinking that is impossible. According to the Bible, we can live that kind of life. It tells us that we can live in such a way that the wicked one touches us not.
