Summary: Pacha is a "good guy", but lives his life without prayer -- so he is bound to make wrong choices.

Introduction:

Pacha – Is he a good example of what a Christian should do?

Keep these Scriptures in mind:

***Psalm 37:5

***Prov. 16:2-3

(Show the section of the movie starting from Pacha letting llama Cuzco out of the sack, up to the point where Pacha agrees to take Cuzco back in exchange for Cuzco’s promise to keep his house.)

In this part of the movie, Pacha made 3 important decisions. Did he make the right decisions, in the right way?

1. Should Pacha have refused to help Cuzco go back?

a. Cuzco was king. Scripture teaches to obey king (Ro. 13:1)

b. Cuzco was tyrant. God works through citizens to overthrows tyrants. (Rehoboam – American revolution)

Bottom line – we need to pray to discern the Lord’s will. Did Pacha pray? NO.

2. Should Pacha have gone to rescue Cuzco, after Cuzco went alone into the forest?

a. All helping involves risk (good Samaritan)

b. Helping according to your own idea may make things worse (Prov. 16:25) The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Bottom line – need to pray for strength and wisdom. Did Pacha pray? NO.

3. Should Pacha have trusted Cuzco’s promise to save his village?

a. Wise as serpents, innocent as doves (Matt. 10:16)

b. Don’t expect honesty from the world (2 Tim. 3:13)

c. Joshua’s one great mistake – he was deceived, because he didn’t pray (Joshua 9)

You guys pray so little, because you rely mostly on yourselves. You don’t pray much because you don’t expect much from Him.

Summary: Pacha is a nice guy with good intentions. In real life, it’s not good enough. Without prayer, you are dead meat.

In a sense, all secular movies and TV shows are demonic. They teach that you can live your life O.K. without God, without prayer. This is a lie from the Devil.
