Introduction

The secret to living a life overshadowed and empowered by the Holy Spirit is learning how to cultivate a genuine and intimate relationship with Him. This involves hosting His presence in our lives. In the story of Martha and Mary, we see that Mary chose to sit at Jesus' feet and listen to His words, while Martha was busy with serving. Jesus gently reminded Martha that Mary had chosen the better part, which would not be taken away from her.

Today, I want to talk to you about hosting the Holy Spirit and creating an environment where His presence can dwell. Without the power of the Holy Spirit, the church will become just another casualty in the spiritual battle. We need the anointing of the Holy Spirit to break the power of the enemy and set people free.

Making Room for the Holy Spirit

Hosting the Holy Spirit involves three main elements:

1. Make room: We need to make space for the Holy Spirit in our lives. This means rearranging our priorities and getting rid of anything that hinders our relationship with God.

Giving Place to the Holy Spirit

2. Give place: Once we have made room, we must yield to and submit to the Holy Spirit. We should desire His presence and give Him the freedom to work in our lives.

Accommodating the Holy Spirit

3. Accommodate: We should seek to please the Holy Spirit and create an environment where He feels comfortable. This involves eliminating sinful behaviors, being quick to repent, avoiding compromise, minimizing secular influences, and rejecting anything demonic or occultic.

Cultivating an Atmosphere for the Holy Spirit

To cultivate an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit, we should engage in praise and worship, immerse ourselves in Scripture, and spend time in solitude with God. Spiritual hunger and thirst are also essential. Jesus said that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness will be filled.

The Need to Host the Holy Spirit

In 2020, it became evident that the church has not been manifesting the power of God. We have been living too far away from His power, allowing the enemy to have free reign. To change this, we must learn to abide in God's presence and host His presence faithfully. This requires an intimate relationship with Him and a genuine love for His presence.

Manifesting the Power of God

As we learn to abide in Him and host His presence, we will see the manifestation of His power in our lives. We will experience the fruit of the Spirit, the flow of His power, and the manifestation of gifts, signs, wonders, miracles, visions, dreams, deliverance, and healing. This is what Christianity is all about.

Conclusion

If you desire the power of God in your life, it is time to learn how to host His presence. Abide in Him, seek His face, and create an environment where His presence can dwell. Out of this abiding life, His power will flow, and the glory of God will be revealed.

Let us all strive to be true hosts of the Holy Spirit and experience the fullness of His power in our lives.
