Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
This sermon aims to inspire us to seek and embrace God's new vision and renewed interest in His works. As we navigate the post-pandemic world, how can we welcome the new things God has in store for us?
In these challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is crucial for us to seek a fresh vision and renewed interest in God's plans. How can we embrace the new things that God wants to do in our lives?
Isaiah 43:18-19 says, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
To embrace God's new thing, we must shift our focus from dwelling on the past to looking ahead. We should celebrate past victories but not try to relive them. Similarly, dwelling on past failures can discourage us. Instead, we need to let go of the past and open ourselves to the new opportunities God has for us.
We need to see ourselves as God sees us – valuable and loved. Despite our past mistakes, God offers us forgiveness and a fresh start. We must also see the possibilities that lie ahead, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. God can transform the desert areas of our lives into fields of blessing and abundance.
God has already set into motion a new direction and purpose for our lives. It is up to us to commit ourselves to His plan. We should listen to His voice and not harden our hearts. By discovering our strengths, learning and growing as leaders, seeking God's guidance, and utilizing the gifts and talents within our congregation, we can effectively embrace the new season that God has for us.
In these unprecedented times, it is essential to remember that our past does not determine our future. God has a bright future in store for each of us if we accept it and believe in His promises. Let us change our focus, embrace God's new vision, and commit ourselves to His plan. By doing so, we can move forward with faith and confidence, knowing that God is doing a new thing in our lives.
