DOUBT BREEDS CONFUSION… WE TRUSTED? PAST TENSE…
By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com
TWO MEN ACCEPT THE NEGATION NEWS OF THE CRUCIFICTION… WHAT CAN NEGATIVE NEWS DO TO ONE’S FAITH? LET US WALK TOGETHER ABOUT 7 TO 8 MILES… 5 HOURS OF WALKING… WALKING WITH THE SON OF GOD…
Luke 24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs. 14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. 16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him. 17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad? 18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days? 19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people: 20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
DOUBT KILLS DREAMS AND HOPES… WE TRUSTED BUT NOW WHAT… HEY STAY HERE AND EAT DINNER WITH US… WE ENJOY YOUR COMPANY…
Luke 24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
WHEN OUR EYES ARE OPEN AND WE SEE BEYOND THE NEGATIVE EMOOTIONS AND NEGATIVE WORDS FAITH CAN IGNITE A NEW FIRE…ENTHUSIASM, A ZEAL, A PASSION TO BURN AND THE FIRE WILL SPREAD… OPEN YOUR EYES TO SEE BY FAITH…
Luke 24:33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, 34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
FAITH CONFIRMED IS NEW BIRTH OF TRUST.
Luke 24:36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU ACCEPT? BAD NEWS? WAIT I HAVE GOOD NEWS, THE BAD NEWS IS NOT THE TRUTH…
THEN THERE ARE THOSE THAT DISTORT THE FACTS AND MISUNDERSTAND THE SPIRITUAL TRUTH… SEEMS SOME PEOPLE CAN’T CATCH THE GRAVITY OF THE MOMENT… GOOD NEWS? FOUR DAYS LATE --- ALL OF OUR HOPE HAS DISAPPEARED…
John 11:12 Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
Seems the news was received that LAZARUS WAS SICK. SOMEBODY GO GET JESUS! Later the news was worse… Jesus heard the news… Mary, Martha and Lazarus were his dear friends… MARY and MARTHA expected Jesus to drop everything and come running.
JESUS SAYS BOYS DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND… LAZARUS IS NOT SLEEPING--- LAZARUS IS DEAD! DEAD!
John 11:13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. 14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
WHY WOULD JESUS HAVE WAITED 4 DAYS? JESUS’ WORK IS NOT ABOUT YOUR DEMANDS AND TIME LINES…
John 11:21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
NO JESUS vs KNOW JESUS? ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER… JESUS HAS THE TIME LINE UNDER HIS PLAN…
Sometime while the sisters were waiting for Jesus they gathered around and watched LAZARUS TAKE HIS LAST BREATH… IT CAN’T BE… LAZARUS IS DEAD? DEAD NOTHING--- HE HAS BEEN IN THE GRAVE FOUR DAYS… JESUS YOU MISSED IT…
John 11:32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
WHERE IS LAZARUS? JESUS KNEW WHERE HE WAS…
John 11:34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
IT TAKES GREAT FAITH TO MOVE THE STONE OF A MAN THAT HAS BEEN DEAD 4 DAYS…
John 11:39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
