Don’t Worry, Be Happy!

Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone walked in perfect peace, without worry, without stress, without lonliness?

It can happen. Especially when we walk with the Lord.

This message today is for both the sinner and for the Christian.

At the close of this message, you will be given opportunity to change your life. You will have a chance to cast off your worries, stresses, and pain, and allow Christ to be your Lord and Master.

TLB James 1:2-4 ~ “Dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy. 3 for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.

KJV James 1:2-4 ~ “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

TLB 1 Peter 4:12-13 ~ “Dear friends, don’t be bewildered or surprised when you go through the fiery trials ahead, for this is no strange, unusual thing that is going to happen to you. 13 Instead, be really glad ~ because these trials will make you partners with Christ in His suffering, and afterwards you will have the wonderful joy of sharing his glory in that coming day when it will be displayed.

Don’t worry, Be happy!

Does anybody remember that Reggae song?

First, to the Christian

Some here today have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord, but you have not allowed Him yet to be your Master.

You called on Him to forgive your sins and to set you free from sin, but you are still, some of you years later, trying to tend after your own soul. You have called Him Lord, but you have yet to let Him be Master.

When He becomes master, you take your hands off the steering wheel, and allow Him to navigate your life, and your destiny.

You would be absolutely amazed to find out how many:

¨ struggles you’ve had,

¨ how many failures you have faced,

¨ how many battles you fought,

Only to find out later that Jesus was there to:

¨ give wisdom, there to pick you up,

¨ and there to fight your battle for you,

But you tied His hands by being in control yourself.

In essence, you are like the License plate on the front of many cars that states, “God is my Co-Pilot.” Today, you have the opportunity to make God your Pilot!

I want to encourage you to TRUST God. He’s more important than the FIRE INSURANCE policy that you have been carrying around with you. He wants to help you through your situation. He wants to be that “Friend that sticks closer than a brother” Prov. 18:24

Got troubles? You’ve Got Jesus!

Got worries? You’ve Got to let Him take them.

Got stress? Are you tired? Burdened down with life?

Take His yoke. Learn from Him. His yoke is easy.

His burden is light! ~ Matt. 11:28-30

Don’t Worry! Be Happy! God is Able and willing to Help! Let Him!

Now, to the sinner

First of all, relax. We’ve all been there, and I would be surprised if there’s not more than just you here today that if truth were told, they too would fess up to being a sinner.

As a matter of fact, all of us in this room, right now, are sinners!

Go ahead, look around you! Look at me! I’m a sinner!

Shocked? It’s true.

We’re all sinners, but some of us have the blessing of being saved by Grace!

Grace ~ Getting what we don’t deserve!

Mercy ~ Not getting what we do deserve!

Peace ~ Knowing that Grace and Mercy are given to you when you simply ask.

Again, we all are sinners, saved by grace! Want more proof?

Romans 3:23 ~ “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Accepting this truth means you have already made the first step to becoming a Christian, and one step closer to allowing Christ to be Lord and Savior of your life!

You need God. In this day and age, we can’t make it on our own. You need supernatural help. God is More than qualified to handle your needs, and even the things you desire.

All you have to do is

Admit that you can’t handle life on your own,

Believe that Jesus died on the Cross for your sins,

Confess those sins, and ask Christ into your life.

Don’t worry about your hang-ups, and your current problems right now.
