Don't Take It Lightly

I SAMUEL 18:23 "DON'T TAKE IT LIGHTLY"

INTRODUCTION; WHEN I WAS YOUNG AND CAREFREE WITH VERY LITTLE RESPONSIBILITIES, I NEVER THOUGHT MUCH ABOUT THE REAL IMPORTANT ISSUES OF LIFE. I REMEMBER WHEN THE FIRST OF THE MONTH WOULD COME, THAT MOM AND DAD WOULD SET DOWN TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO PAY THE BILLS. PAY THIS AND THAT, SO MUCH FOR GROCERIES, CLOTHES, SHOES FOR KIDS, ECT. NOW THAT I HAVE A FAMILY OF MY OWN, I DON'T TAKE THAT LIGHTLY. I BELIEVE THERE ARE A LOT OF THINGS WE TAKE LIGHTLY. WE TAKE HEALTH LIGHTLY. WE TAKE CITIZENSHIP LIGHTLY. WE TAKE CHURCH LIGHTLY. THERE OUGHT TO BE SOME THINGS WE TAKE VERY SERIOUS AND NOT LIGHTLY.

I-DONT'T TAKE LIGHTLY THAT YOU ARE IN THE KING'S FAMILY

1-SON-IN-LAW-verse 23

2-got in the family by being born again

3-David went from pasture to palace

4-Prodical son went from pig-pen to palace (home)

5-not important what you were-important where you are

now

6-I'm in family of the king--shouting ground

II-DON'T TAKE LIGHTLY THAT YOU ARE IN KING'S SERVICE

1-great joy to work for king--after what he did for me

2-no matter what job--none too big or too small

3-not trying to pay him back-could never do that in

100 life times

4-there will be a payday someday

5-don't want to take my job lightly

III-DON'T TAKE LIGHTLY THAT YOU ARE IN KING'S COMPANY

1-my earthly father was always there for me, until

death took him

2-my heavenly father will always be there

3-what a joy to walk and talk with him-nothing can

replace that

IV-DON'T TAKE LIGHTLY THE KING'S FAMILY-HIS KIDS

1-among a good crowd-Hebrews 11 list his kids

2-I'm right there among them-good family to be in

3-when I was home as a boy I had 4 brothers--jump on

one of us, you had to fight all of us.

4-devil better watch who he picks a fight with-there

is still a lot of brothers and sisters around.
