Summary: To show that we don't need to envy the wicked even if they don't worship the LORD, for their spirits are dead and there is no reward for them.

Matthew 15:14 (Amplified Bible)

15:14 Let them alone and disregard them; they are blind guides and teachers. And if a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a ditch.

Luke 6:39 (Amplified Bible)

6:39 He further told them a proverb: Can a blind [man] guide and direct a blind [man]? Will they not both stumble into a ditch or a hole in the ground?

Don't complain but pray. Cast them to the LORD.

Philippians 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

4:6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

1 Peter 5:7 (Amplified Bible)

5:7 Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

B. No reward to the evil men, their life will be put out

"24:20 For there shall be no reward for the evil man; the lamp of the wicked shall be put out."

The lamp, light or life refers to the spirit of the unbelievers. And we know that their spirit was already dead, because they're not yet born again. The spirit of a man, being a tripartite (spirit, soul and body) being, will be the one that will be born again and since they don't have JESUS, their spirits are dead. A dead person cannot appreciate anything and it can't appreciate a reward, it's useless to give them a reward.

Proverbs 13:9 (Amplified Bible)

13:9 The light of the [uncompromisingly] righteous [is within him—it grows brighter and] rejoices, but the lamp of the wicked [furnishes only a derived, temporary light and] shall be put out shortly.

Proverbs 20:27 (Amplified Bible)

20:27 The spirit of man [that factor in human personality which proceeds immediately from God] is the lamp of the Lord, searching all his innermost parts.

Then, why these people are retained by the LORD?

So that the LORD can show His kindness, forbearance and long-suffering patience to them.

Romans 2:4 (Amplified Bible)

2:4 Or are you [so blind as to] trifle with and presume upon and despise and underestimate the wealth of His kindness and forbearance and long-suffering patience? Are you unmindful or actually ignorant [of the fact] that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repent (to change your mind and inner man to accept God’s will)?

IX. CONCLUSION:

Psalms 119:22 (Amplified Bible)

119:22 Take away from me reproach and contempt, for I keep Your testimonies.

James 1:17 (Amplified Bible)

1:17 Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse].

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You have taken from me reproach and contempt and have instead given me every perfect gift as my reward here on earth.
