Summary: Out of the dunghill comes upliftment 1 Samuel 2:8.

There is general perception that good successes can only come out of civilization. Today, many people are ensnared in it and tend to move from one location to another in consideration of their present circumstances.

Sharp drift from poor regions to developed worlds is glaringly predominant which present the question whether God is not omnipresent. It is necessary to hear from God rather than take personal decision so that we can live a fulfilled life (Genesis 12:1-2). Circumstance (slavery) forced Joseph to leave his present location to a strange land (Egypt) (Genesis 37:27-28) yet he succeeded (Genesis 41:43). Elimelech out of fear (famine) left his present location for better living (Ruth 1:2) but the outcome was a catastrophe (Ruth 1:3-21).

Ruth, the Moabite said ‘for whither thou goest, I will go, and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people and thy God my God (Ruth 1:16). The comment to her mother-in-law signified absolute trust in God irrespective of current predicament for He is omnipresent and their return journey yielded good success (Ruth 4:14-17). The man called Ebedmelech was a stranger in the land of Judah yet he played an important role in the administration of Zedekiah, the King of Judah by being instrumental to the release of Jeremiah from the prison (Jeremiah 38:7-13).

These scenarios portrayed the faithfulness of God. No matter how much emphasis we placed on location or circumstance a determinant to succeed, God remains our Great Provider (Genesis 22:13-14). Let our faith not fail us so that we do not end up like ‘a lord on whose hand the king leaned’, who for his unbelief did not partake in the good of the land at the appointed time (2 Kings 7:1-20).

Prayer points

1. With God all things are possible: Despite the land being tough, we shall eat the good fruits of the land in Jesus’ name. Amen.

2. The situation may be terrific, we pray God will put smile on our faces in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Conclusion

Remember out of the dunghill comes upliftment. God is enough only have faith (Mark 11:22)

Stay blessed
