Summary: The Preacher boldly declares: By this time tomorrow God is going to move. The king's servant says: There is no way... I don't believe that is possible.

DO YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT?

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com (YouTube: Wade Hughes) Two part.

Text: 2 Kings 7:1Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

ATTITUDES? PEOPLE ARE PRONED TO SEE THE NEGATIVE. GEHAZI LOOKS OUT THE WINDOW IN FEAR AND WORRY. GEHAZI SEES TROUBLE

The enemy is convinced there is a spy in the camp. The king hears there is a man of God in the camp. The man of God talks to God. God talks to his man. God’s man tells Gehazi, his servant. "Don't worry about it—there are more on our side than on their side."

2 Kings 6:16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

HOW DOES FRIED DONKEY’S HEAD SOUND? I WILL EAT THE TONGUE? YOU EAT THE EYE? IMPOSSIBLE ODDS: HOW DO WE REACT TO TROUBLE?

2 Kings 6:25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.

How does dove dung soup sound?

LET’S BLAME THE ELISHA AND THE PREACHER. THE STRAW THAT BREAKS THE CAMEL’S BACK: TWO WOMEN COMPLAIN:

2 Kings 6:28 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son tomorrow. 29 So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

THERE IS A TENDENCY TO BLAME THE PREACHER. LET US NAIL THE PREACHERS HIDE TO THE WALL,

2 Kings 6:31 Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.

The King vows: "God do his worst to me—and more—if I don’t have Elisha’s head cut off by sundown. Why not see the sin, fear and doubt that is in the camp?

TOMORROW: GOD IS MOVING. WILL WE LISTEN? THE STORM IS OVER! IN 24 HOURS THINGS ARE GOING TO CHANGE! THE WORD OF THE LORD: IS THERE A POSITIVE WORD IN ALL THIS MESS? WORD LISTEN TO THE PREACHER? PLENTY IS COMING! THE FAMINE WILL BE OVER.

2 Kings 7:1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

THE NEGATIVE CROWD HAS A BIG MOUTH. YOU ARE CRAZY! IF? EXPECT THE NEGATIVE TONGUES TO DECLARE: THE NEGATIVE: NO WAY JOSE!

2 Kings 7:2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

There was a King’s servant that the king trusted sowed doubt against God’s holy man. Do you not know about the donkey’s head, the pigeon poop soup and the eating of the baby? Preacher do you expect us to believe that? WINDOWS? WINDOWS IN HEAVEN?

YOUR MOUTH HAS RELEASED A PERSONAL PROPHESY: ELISHA SAYS: YOUR NEGATIV ATTITUDES AND NEGATIVE WORDS WILL BACKFIRE ON YOU.

You may have favor with the king, but your mouth has released more trouble. Young man you will watch it with your own eyes, but you will not taste one bite of the promise.

WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE. WHY SIT HERE UNTIL WE DIE? GET UP! WE MUST ARISE AND DO SOMETHING. WE HAVE THREE CHOICES?

1. Stay here and die? 2. Go into town and die? 3. Head towards the enemy’s camp and die?

2 Kings 7:3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die? 4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. 5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.
