Summary: You know how Joseph's brothers had sold him as a slave to Egypt and nearly after twenty years Joseph revealed himself to his brothers when they had come to him. He was now the Governor of Egypt. The first thing that Joseph told his brothers was Gen 45:5 .
You know how Joseph's brothers had sold him as a slave to Egypt and nearly after twenty years Joseph revealed himself to his brothers when they had come to him. He was now the Governor of Egypt. The first thing that Joseph told his brothers was Gen 45:5 "Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life".
Today also the Lord is telling you the same thing:
1) Don't be grieved
2) Don't be angry
3) God is in control of your life
There are a lot of young people these days who are grieved in some way or the other because of what somebody has done in their life or because of their own failures. Many a young people are angry at themselves or at others or at what has happened in their life. Some are angry at their own parents, teachers or even angry at their spiritual leader.
Joseph had all the reason to be grieved and angry with himself, thinking why I had to carry tales about my brothers to my father and why I had to tell my brothers my dream because of this I got into trouble all these years.
Joseph had all the reason to be grieved and angry at his brothers thinking because of their jealousy I have lost my youth and had to work as a slave in my lovely young days, be separated from my father who loved me so much after the loss of my mother, and also be separated from my own younger brother Benjamin, how I miss him.
Joseph had all the reason to be grieved and angry at Potiphar and his wife. In spite of being so faithful, they falsely blamed him and put him in the prison for years…… all for no reason Joseph suffered. He could therefore afford to get bitter, grieved and angry at his own self and at his brothers.
But Joseph chose not to be grieved or get angry because he chose to believe that the Hand of God was directing his way and shaping his life to reach his destiny. Since he had experienced this he now could understand the feelings of his brothers because now they had all the reasons to be grieved and angry at themselves. Therefore he told them, “be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.” Joseph saw the purpose of God in his life.
Friend, I don't know if there is anything that is bothering you and causing you to grieve or get angry over yourself or over somebody. But let me tell you that God has a plan for your life; the hand of the Lord is directing you. Begin to see things through God's perspective. Don't get discouraged. God loves you and has a plan for your live to save many as he did through Joseph.
