For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud cry of summons, with the shout of an archangel, and with the blast of the trumpet of God. And those who have departed this life in Christ will rise first.

Then we, the living ones who remain [on the earth], shall simultaneously be caught up along with [the resurrected dead] in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so always (through the eternity of the eternities) we shall be with the Lord!

Therefore comfort and encourage one another with these words.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (Amplified Bible)

Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (New King James Version)

in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

A. Thank GOD in everything

"Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks],"

Give thanks or "eucharisteo" in the Greek language, meaning "to be grateful, to express gratitude towards, to say grace at a meal"

Thanksgiving is one sacrifice that we do, we thank GOD even we feel like it or don't. It's easy to give thanks when everything's going your way, but how about if it's not, then we still give thanks for this is the sacrifice of praise acceptable to GOD.

Hebrews 13:15 (Amplified Bible)

Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name.

Ephesians 5:20 (Amplified Bible)

At all times and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father.

Philippians 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

Colossians 3:17 (Amplified Bible)

And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.

Psalms 34:1 (Amplified Bible)

[A Psalm] of David; when he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, who drove him out, and he went away. I WILL bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

Job 1:21 (Amplified Bible)

And said, Naked (without possessions) came I [into this world] from my mother’s womb, and naked (without possessions) shall I depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; blessed (praised and magnified in worship) be the name of the Lord!

ILLUSTRATION: In our meals, first we pray that GOD blessed our food and drink and it will be done for His Glory alone, and after every meal, we thank Him as well for filling us up, thanking Him for the land He has given, praising Him because He has dealt wondrously with us, satisfied us with plenty of food and nourishment and satisfied with joy, contentment, and godliness.
