God Acknowledges The Godly - 4:3 But know that the LORD God Approves The Godly - 4:3 hath set apart him that is godly for himself God Answers The Godly - 4:3 the LORD will hear when I call unto him. 3. David's Prescription - 4:4,5 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. Tremble before The Lord - 4:4 Stand in awe, and sin not: Think upon The Lord - 4:4 commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah Treasure The Lord - 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness (right sacrifices) Psalms 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Trust In The Lord - 4:5 and put your trust in the LORD. 4. David's Peace - 4:6-8 God’s Goodness and Salvation - 4:6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. The Failure of The Fearful - 4:6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? The Fervency of The Faithful - 4:6 LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. God’s Gladness and Supply - 4:7 7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. God’s Guardianship and Security - 4:8 8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
