Summary: Our conscience can be our guide if we exercise it.

Jordan’s phone if someone steals it, all he has to do is log on the Verizon website and the phone will lock itself, so that they can’t make phone calls and begins to take pictures where it is at, and maybe who is holding it!

What if our conscience took pictures of the things we did, or didn’t do?

Would our conscience be clear?

Patricia Greenlee’s son is a state trooper in West Virginia who recently gave a woman a ticket for going 15 miles over the speed limit. After handing her the ticket, she asked, "Don’t you give out warnings?" "Yes ma’am," was his reply, "They’re all up and down the road. They say, ’Speed Limit 55.’"

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger! Remember that T.V. show…Lost In Space!

We have a warning sign in our life is called conscience!

A Good Conscience Can Keep Us Going In The Right Direction:

1 Timothy 1:3-6-As I urged you when I went into Macedonia—remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine,

nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith.

Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk,

Having Swerved-They have missed the mark, they have gone off course, if we don’t stay on course, we won’t achieve the purposes God has for us.

A Good Conscience Can Keep Us From Wrecking Our Lives:

1 Timothy 1:18-19-This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,

How many people (After the have wreck their life) have you ever heard say or maybe you have said it, “I should have listen to that voice inside my head telling not to do that!”

How Do We Get And Keep A Good Conscience?

Acts 24:16-This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men. (NKJV)

Acts 24:16-And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, (KJV)

Hebrews 5:13-14-For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Conscience must be exercised or it will not be a good conscience.

You exercise your conscience when you obey the Word of God, when you do the things God tells you and shows you to do.

Just as a musician gets better as they practices , or a cook as they prepare meals, or a painter as they paint.

The Christian develops a keen sensitivity about what is right and wrong as he or she obeys the Word of God.

What Happens To Our Conscience If We Don’t Exercise It?

Have you ever wondered some people to do evil things and horrible things to other people and not be bothered about the things they say or do?

Some people can lie and never lose any sleep.

They can steal and do other evil things, and it never seems to upset them.

It seems that they have no limits to the evil that they could do, it seem they have no conscience!

Hebrews 10:22-Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

What Else Can Our Conscience Do For Us?

Hebrews 9:14-How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

There are some people who do things for God, to sway God to do things for them! That’s dead works!

To do things for God because it’s the right thing to do, will give us a good and clear consciences!
