Daily Walk Pt 2 Boldness

* Start by playing music video by Rawsrvnt “I'm on Fire”

Tonight we're gonna continue with week 2 of our Daily Walk Series and we're gonna talk having that BOLDNESS

We're gonna talk about living out loud and representing our faith and representing God and our relationship with Christ

and having Boldness in that

and so with that in mind let's look at the word Boldness and what it actually means to be bold

Some Synonyms or in other words some similar words to define boldness are: Courage, confidence, fearlessness

and then some Related ideas would be having: Zeal, strength, No fear, kind of like David and Goliath or Daniel in prayer

and Some regular definitions of the word would be:

not hesitating or fearful in the face of actual or possible danger or rebuff; courageous and daring: a bold hero.

And then some Definitions kind of in a Christian way would be like:

Boldness is an attitude of strong confidence in God, such that godly things are said and done openly without fear of the consequences.

So the 1st thing I want us to look at tonight is number 1

1. Having an Attitude of Strong Confidence in God

now what does that look like, to have an attitude of strong confidence in God

well , we're gonna get into that in just a moment but I wanna read a passage of scripture from 2 Timothy 2:12 and it says

12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

Now notice the 2 words in there that say Endure and/or Deny

we're gonna look at those 2 words in a moment but 1st let's talk about some practical ways that you and I could have an Attitude of Strong Confidence in God

so let me ask you this, what does that really look like when your at School?

Don't all answer at once but be transparent with me tonight and let's talk about this.

What does having an Attitude of Strong Confidence in God look like when you're at School?

How would you portray that?

What does it look like when your in the neighborhood on the block hanging with friends and someone suggest doing something that you know is wrong?

Good job answering those, now with that mind let's talk about what it means to endure

because the Bible says in the 1st part of 2 Timothy 2:12

If we endure, we shall also reign with him.

So the word endure means

en·dure

inˈd(y)o͝or,enˈd(y)o͝or/

verb

1. suffer (something painful or difficult) patiently.

In other words

synonyms: undergo, go through, live through, experience, meet, encounter;

it also means

2. remain in existence; or to last.

in other words

synonyms: last, live, live on, go on, survive, abide, continue, persist, persevere, remain, stay

so what it means then to endure and we shall reign with him is that we need to persevere and just hang on because when it's all said and done

if we do that and we live our lives in boldness and being courageous as we live for God

we will reign with him in eternity

Now the 2nd thing I want you to see tonight is number 2

2. Do Godly things openly and without Fear

and we can't be afraid of oh my friends may think I'm weird or make fun of me and I won't be as cool

listen and we talked about this last week be the “NEW COOL”

and if we walk in boldness and confidence it'll begin to become contagious and spread like a wild fire

we will start a revolution and a revival right there in your school and in your neighborhood

but let's look at what the rest of 2 Timothy 2:12 says

it says: If we deny him, he will also deny us

Let's look at the word deny so we can get a better understanding

de·ny

dəˈnī/

verb

1. state that one refuses to admit the truth or existence of.

in other words

like: contradict, controvert, repudiate, challenge, counter, contest, oppose, rebut;

refuse to admit the truth of

2. refuse to give or grant (something requested or desired) to (someone).

In other words

like: refuse, turn down, reject, rebuff, repulse, decline, veto, dismiss;

so basically if we reject God he will reject us when it's all said and done

so let's talk about this in practical terms

if you know something is wrong and you got no business getting involved or doing it and friends are encouraging it,

and you go through with it because you feel pressured to be cool, are you denying God in your life?

YES

because if you had boldness and courage and an attitude of strong confidence in God and you desired to do Godly things openly and without fear
