Courageous Joshua 1:1-9NKJ

After the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, it came to pass that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: 2 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the River Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your territory. 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Adam and Eve were chosen to live in the land of Eden, the land of life ad promise.

Noah was chosen to rescue mankind by being faithful in building an ark.

Moses was chosen to enter in the promise land, to lead God’s people out of bondage.

Jacob was chosen to rescue mankind’s blessings by not letting go.

On and on.

Crane Eater is chosen to continue the blessings and generation of God!

Joshua task seemed mammoth. Joshua’s presider Moses had died, and the people were in morning- deep sorrow had come. It was nearing thirty days, could the Israelites recover from their loss?

Maybe Moses‘ death hit home because these Israelites knew that a whole generation died because of their lack of faith in God, and their unbelief in this now present day hero. (Regrets paralyze you!)

Joshua means- “Jehovah saves, or the Lord is my Salvation.” Joshua was born in Egyptian slavery, trained under Moses, and by God’s choice rouse to his position of leading Israel into Canaan.

Joshua was approaching 90 years of age when he became Israel’s leader, and died at age 110.

Joshua 1:1-2NLTAfter the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ assistant. He said, 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them.

If you don’t realize it, as you serve God He will bring you into pivotal points that usually come through one sentence, but a lifetime of trails. The theme of the book of Joshua is the establishment of Israel in the promised land.

2b...lead these people, the Israelites, across the Jordan River into the land I am giving them.

This promise of God’s faithfulness first begin as Abraham (The father of faith) said, “I’ll go.” However, it wouldn’t come into fruition until Joshua stepped out onto the flooding Jordan River! (In the middle of the spring rains.)

There will be some deciding factors for you! A lot of faith and mundane, however; God will bring season change and favor!

Galatians 6:7-9NLT Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

If you aren’t following God’s plan you’re walking after the flesh, and won’t see God’s best. To walk in the Spirit is to follow God by being a faith walker!

A monk in a monastery took a vow of silence. Every seven years he was permitted to speak. When asked if he had anything to say after his first seven years, he replied, “Yes, the bed is too hard.” Another seven years went by, and he was asked again if he’d like to say something. He said, “Yes, the food is terrible.” Finally, another seven years passed, and he was asked once again if he had anything to say. He replied, “Yes, I quit.” Whereupon the head of the monastery said to him, “I’m glad, because you’ve done nothing but complain since you got here! (The point is, what will you be remembered for? A lifetime of faith or years of nothingness.
