Summary: How many Christians do you think read the Bible every day? Very few. The predominant source of confusion is sin!

Confusion of mind!

Deuteronomy 28:28”The LORD will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind.”

I’m struggling within myself to write this devotion but I feel it should be preached today! In the above scripture, we read about madness, blindness and confusion of mind! If you have not met anybody who had once been very sound in mind and suddenly you find them a total wreck, then you would not understand what I’m talking about today.

Don’t you think we got to protect our head with good stuff because God says, ‘You will be the head and not the tail!’ On the contrary, people today fill their head with knowledge, lust, corruption, dirt and have no time for God. How many Christians do you think read the Bible every day? Very few. The predominant source of confusion is sin! When the pagan monarch got puffed up with pride because of the surplus and opulence in Egypt and when he spoke rudely to Moses and Aaron, God kept that in mind. Let me pause and make a point here, when you brashly talk to someone, mark it, God has made note of it! He will surely make you eat back your words! Caveat! God does not do it immediately but He would surely do it! The Bible says, "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." (James 4:6) Pharaoh picked up six hundred chosen chariots and all the other chariots of Egypt with officers over all of them to pursue the Israelites. When the Israelites saw the great army they trembled and greatly feared; but God did something to topple the proud Egyptians – look what He did: Exodus 14:24”During the last watch of the night the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw it into confusion.” Not one of them were alive, everybody got drowned in the middle of the sea!

Hey friend, when we ignore God, church and His commandments and run behind the world, His little finger is enough to touch our brain and bring confusion. When I am called for counselling regarding marital problems by certain Christians, I find the arguments, discussions, quarrel and language appalling! But mention has to be made here that these are the people who show their noses in the church once in a month or may be once a year! Bible and prayer just seems alien to them!

Which degree is going to produce the most job offers and the highest starting salaries is the hot pursuit today? Pursuit of knowledge is for money rather than for anything else! Shoot me if you disagree with me. College students major in computer science, software engineering, IT or some other niche in order to snare the top prize four years from now: a six-figure starting salary, perhaps with stock options? But alas! When the bottom drops, they have no props except for their degree certificates! When I watch smart, astute, shrewd and sharp minded tech savvy young people with umpteen degree up their sleeve fumble and stumble in their personal life, ruin their life with wrong financial planning and totally end up in a mess, I can only give one reason for this mayhem – NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUE GOD AND NO TRUE FAITH IN GOD!

You know what, pride ignores God and prayer, but humbly start the day with prayer and Bible reading and watch God show you the way! Boy! Life becomes easy with God!
