Complaining Will Get Gods Attention
Contributed by James Bryant on Apr 26, 2001 (message contributor)
Summary: Is there ANY reason for complaining? ? ?
COMPLAINING WILL GET GOD"S ATTENTION
Numbers 11:1
(1) And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
Ever asked someone how they were doing and they would say, "Well, it doesn’t do me any good to complain about it." "Nobody wants to hear it." Ever heard someone say that?
Complaining may not spark man’s attention but it does spark God’s attention.
When we speak of sin, complaining usually is not the first thing that comes to mind.
We think of things like; Killing, Stealing, Lying, and these types of things.
But complaining is just as much of a sin than those are.
According to the Bible, complaining displeases the Lord.
Numbers 11:1
(1) And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord….
That’s scripture.
If it’s something that God doesn’t want us to do then wouldn’t you agree that we should work on not doing it?
Not only do people not want to hear complaining but God too does not want to hear complaining.
Not complaining is hard for most all of us.
But just think of all we have to be thankful for.
{Being saved-not having to go to hell in itself should be enough to not complain.}
Not only does complaining displease the Lord, but also kindles his anger.
Numbers 11:1
(1) and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.
That’s serious stuff there, isn’t it?
The children of Israel should have never complained with what all God done for them. (Freed them from slavery from Egypt).
With all the blessings God has given us Christian here in this country, we too should not complain about anything. But be thankful rejoicing with praises.
