INTRODUCTION:
Salvation is the greatest gift that God has given to mankind through Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, many people delay accepting Christ, thinking they have enough time. The Bible warns that life is fleeting, and no one knows what tomorrow holds. The call to salvation is urgent—Jesus is calling today, and postponing the decision could be eternally disastrous. This sermon will highlight why you must come to Jesus now and not delay.
1. SALVATION IS FOR TODAY, NOT TOMORROW
Delaying salvation is dangerous because tomorrow is uncertain.
a) God calls us today, not later (Hebrews 3:15)
When you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.
b) Life is unpredictable (James 4:14)
Life is like a vapour that appears briefly and then vanishes.
c) The opportunity for salvation does not last forever (Isaiah 55:6)
Seek the Lord while He may be found.
d) Delayed decisions lead to missed opportunities (Proverbs 27:1)
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what it will bring.
e) Biblical Example: The Rich Fool (Luke 12:16-20)
He planned for the future but did not realise he would die that night.
2. JESUS IS CALLING YOU TO COME TO HIM
Jesus lovingly invites all to receive salvation.
a) He offers rest to the weary (Matthew 11:28)
Jesus calls all who are burdened to come and receive peace.
b) He is the only way to eternal life (John 14:6)
There is no salvation outside Jesus Christ.
c) He has paid the full price for your sins (Romans 5:8)
Christ died for us while we were yet sinners.
d) He does not reject anyone who comes to Him (John 6:37)
No matter your past, Jesus is ready to accept you.
e) Biblical Example: Zacchaeus’ Immediate Response (Luke 19:1-10)
When Jesus called, Zacchaeus did not delay—he responded immediately.
3. THE DANGER OF REJECTING GOD’S CALL
Refusing to come to Jesus has eternal consequences.
a) Hell is real for those who reject Christ (Revelation 20:15)
Those not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire.
b) No second chance after death (Hebrews 9:27)
After death comes judgment, not another opportunity.
c) Hardened hearts lead to spiritual blindness (2 Corinthians 4:4)
The enemy blinds those who reject Christ’s invitation.
d) Some opportunities never come again (Genesis 6:3)
God’s Spirit will not strive with man forever.
e) Biblical Example: The Foolish Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)
They delayed and were shut out of the wedding feast.
4. WHAT MUST YOU DO TO BE SAVED?
Salvation is simple but requires a sincere response.
a) Acknowledge that you are a sinner (Romans 3:23)
Everyone has sinned and needs salvation.
b) Repent and turn away from sin (Acts 3:19)
True salvation requires genuine repentance.
c) Believe in Jesus as your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9-10)
Faith in Christ alone brings salvation.
d) Confess Him openly (Matthew 10:32-33)
Salvation must be publicly declared, not hidden.
e) Biblical Example: The Philippian Jailer (Acts 16:30-34)
He asked what he must do to be saved and immediately accepted Jesus.
5. THE REWARDS OF ACCEPTING JESUS NOW
Coming to Jesus has eternal and earthly benefits.
a) Eternal life with Christ (John 3:16)
Whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
b) A new life in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Old things pass away, and all things become new.
c) Peace that passes understanding (Philippians 4:7)
Salvation brings divine peace and joy.
d) Deliverance from the power of darkness (Colossians 1:13)
Jesus rescues us from the kingdom of darkness.
e) Biblical Example: The Thief on the Cross (Luke 23:39-43)
He received salvation at the last moment, but many do not get that chance.
CONCLUSION:
Salvation is an urgent decision. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, and delaying may lead to eternal loss. Jesus is calling you today to surrender your life to Him. Will you answer His call now, or will you risk facing eternity without Him? The time of salvation is now—don’t wait until it is too late!
