Summary: It was a sad day when there was NO ROOM for the son of God. The Shunammite woman made a room for the Preacher. There were benefits for making making room for God's plan.

COME, LET US MAKE ROOM... I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN...

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Psalm 116:12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

ANSWER THIS QUESTION: WHAT IS MINISTRY?

I have a simple answer? ---

Ministry is seeing a need. Touching the Throne of God. Then doing something about the

need?

I NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN...

WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, USUALLY MORE IS SAID THAN DONE?

THE PREACHER WAS A TRAVELING CIRCUIT PREACHER. HIS SERVANT, GEHAZI AND

HE WOULD TRAVEL. GEHAZI KNEW THEY WOULD BE:

"ON THE ROAD AGAIN FOR SEVERAL DAYS. "

GEHAZI WOULD PREPARED ALL HE COULD FOR THE THEIR TRIP.

The food would be cold and get old.

There were no credit cards and bonus points and rewards for traveling.

They would take their baths in the river. They would wash up their clothes.

They would sleep under the stars.

Some nights would get they would get cold and damp.

There were no motels or hotels or bed and breakfasts clubs.

THERE WAS A LADY THAT PRAYED AND LOVED TO HEAR THE OLD PREACHER PREACH

AND TEACH. THIS LADY FELT SOMETHING DIFFERENT WHEN ELISHA WOULD SPEAK.

ONE DAY THIS PROMIMENT WOMAN MUST HAVE NOTICED THE PREACHER SEEMED

TIRED AND WEARY. Maybe Elisha had not slept well that night.

Maybe the lady heard someone talking and over heard them talking about Elisha's sleeping bag?

MAYBE THE LADY PRAYED AND GOD EXPOSED THE OLD PREACHER WAS SLEEPING

ON THE GROUND?

Maybe the lady's heart just sense GOD'S MAN HAD A NEED?

WHAT'S YOUR NAME WOMAN? WE DO NOT KNOW HER NAME...

THE LESSON IS NOT ABOUT TROPHIES... THE LESSON IS ABOUT SEE NEEDS...

WE KNOW HER AS THE SHUNAMMITE WOMAN...

Let us read:

2 Kings 4:8-10 (KJV) And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where was a great

woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And so it was, that as oft as he passed by, he

turned in thither to eat bread. 9 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this

is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. 10 Let us make a little chamber, I pray

thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick:

and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.

2 Kings 4:8 One day Elisha went to Shuhem. A prominent woman of the city invite him in to eat,

and afterwards, whenever he passed by that way, he stopped in for dinner. 9. She said to her

husband, "I'm sure this holy man who stops in from time to time is a holy prophet. 10 Let us make

A LITTLE ROOM for him; we can put a bed, a table, a chair and a lamp, and he will have a place

to stay whenever he comes by."

THE LADY WAS SENSITIVE... SHE SAW A NEED ---

MAYBE THE LADY PRAYED AFTER THINKING ABOUT THE OLD PREACHER ON THE

COLD, DAMP GROUND... AND THE HOLY SPIRIT DIRECTED HER...

YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS...

1. The older preacher was visiting pretty often... WE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN...

2. While we do not know her name, we call her THE SHUNAMMITE WOMAN...

3. It was obvious some how the lady knew there was something different about ELISHA...

HE WAS A HOLY MAN... HE KNEW GOD AND GOD KNEW HIM...

4. She fixed the Old Preacher a meal. Elisha and Gehazi gobbled the nice warm meal down.

must have loved to cooking... Maybe she just loved watching the man of God come by?

5. WE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN...

One day the old preacher had left full of food, and AS SHE WASHED THE DISHES SHE

WHEN AND TALKED TO HER HUSBAND...

Honey, we have saved up some money, LET US INVEST IN THIS MINISTRY ---

LET US MAKE ROOM FOR THE PREACHER... We can remodel and add a room with a

separate entry door and INVITE THE PREACHER AND HIS SERVANT TO STAY HERE

WITH US... I can't stand to think of us in this warm house and the Preacher on the ground?

6. Let us make a little room for God and his man. WE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN...

Let's do more than just build a room let us furnish it... He will need a bed? A table? A chair?

He will need a lamp to see at night.

7. THIS LITTLE FAMILY WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN...

THIS WOULD SHOW THE PREACHER WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE HIM...
